Pubic hair on bathroom floor, and a $250 smoking charge when I don't smoke which management refused to address, terrible place stay away. Ok hotel although dated unless you expect cleaned bathrooms or for the hotel not to steal from you.

But I read another review that said there was another pool? I have no idea where?! The pool is nice sized and also rather indoor/outdoor so has lots of shade and lounge chairs. In fact, between the lobby and the outside area, one had plenty of comfortable places to sit outside of the room. I wish they would have a massuese ongrounds as I had to go over to the Newport marriott who's layout is not as easy to navigate between spa and pool.
I agree tho with not paying the extra for "bayview" as it's not that impressive.
The only complaints I really had was it was a warm night and the AC blows right on the bed all night, so I was either hot or cold plus it gave me a bad sinus headache. And the pillows went flat so I did NOT have a good night of sleep:(
Just wish I had known one could park on the street all night!? As this is rather a "cement jungle/busy street" area where one really needs a car! Would be nice if Marriott would include parking and in room wifi for it's "elite" members. And maybe do something for their members if it's a special occasion.
It is a bit puzzling that lately the "courtyards" are becoming nicer and a better deal than their more expensive places? I know location counts but neither of these are on the beach...

Pluses: Large clean rooms. Pleasant staff and nice grounds.
Minuses: $21 parking charge per night. $13 WiFi charge per night in the room. Free WiFi in the lobby. Around $15 charge for a not very good breakfast.

We held a school reunion at the this Marriott Hotel in Newport Beach, CA. I do recommend this hotel but be prepared to pay a lot more than the room charge.

This is a great looking hotel on the outside. Once inside, it has a few warts. Like noisey air conditioning in the room, and dinner that is better eaten at an off-premise steakhouse. And, the $21 per night parking is a real wallet-teaser. Perhaps what really irked me the most was the lack of customer service when I would call. I had people just switch me to the national Marriott reservations line before I could even say what I needed. Or, one of their fine staff who 3 times promised to return my call, but never did - a few years ago, this would not have been accepted by Marriott Hotels, but I guess times change and the Marriott brand label now includes tolerance for sloppy maintenance, less-than-premium restaurants, and broken promises. So, it rates a average review, and a no-return committment.

This is a great place to get away for a night, the property used to be called a Marriott Suites and it still retains the suite room layout. The weekend rates are usually a good value, except for the insanely high parking charge. If your willing to walk a block you can park for free on the street down on Bayview Way. The pool is great and the outdoor fire pit is a great place to end a romantic evening.

That's the good, now the bad. Overall Marriott's standard customer care is well below par here. If you are looking for over the top service or care, move on up the road to Newport Beach Marriott. I stay here a couple of times a year and the value makes up for the service.

Room Tip: If possible get a room on the bay side and you don't have to park on site.

This is part two of Good Value...Sunrise Redondo BW.
It was like a breathe of fresh air after the Sunrise BW Redondo.
We stayed in this area before. Close to freeway, malls, good restaurants as well an easy drive to Fashion Mall and Balboa Island. All and all a good neighborhood.
Check-in was seamless and welcoming. The lobby and room are well appointed, more of what we were looking for.
Our room was a one bedroom (fourth floor road side, quiet) with a pullout and Murphy bed.
Good size bathroom with tub and separate shower. Plus plenty of closet space for luggage etc. A mini fridge and coffee maker as well complimented the room.
Pool area was a hit, hot tub was hot. Workout area and gear are current. Ordering poolside was good and not as expensive as I thought. I recommend the clubhouse!
Breakfast buffet was fresh with a good selection. Top shelf omlettes! If you have kids under ten as we do go for the buffet.
Think it's half price.
Make sure you hit Beni Haunas if you find youself here. A great dinning experience for everyone. Don't forget to bring your own wine (minor cork fee).
As crazy as it sounds the BW Sunrise and this hotel are the same price...$179!
Overall I recommend this property as a better value top to bottom.
Look for Pt.3 soon. Next stop Legoland!

If you are a birdwatcher, being able to walk from the hotel to top quality lagoon birdwatching makes this a wonderful place to stay. Add to that the hummingbirds and finches which bathe in the patio fountain!
For everyone - this is a high-end Marriott, convenient to Irvine and the John Wayne airport. Good food, bar area and nicely spacious rooms. All the staff extremely helpful.
