We stayed at this property for 2 nights celebrating our anniversary. At check in I asked for a room in the main tower based on the reviews here and they accomodated us right away. We had a direct ocean view. Although the property is not on the ocean and kinda far from the ocean, you can see the water past the golf course and thru the trees.

The room and bathroom were small but spotless. They just did a huge remodel to this hotel. The shower was glass encased and really nice! The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept on in a long time. Even more comfortable then my own. I've never slept in a hotel bed this comfortable before. The only complaint we had with the room is the noise. We were on the 9th floor at the end, so we thought it would be quiet, but apparently the hotel is a happening one with lots going on, so there was noise until late in the night. Lots of 20 something year olds in the pool until late having fun.

Fashion Island is directly across the street and a great mall to walk to shop and eat at. We noticed some guests parked at the mall to escape the parking fee. But if you self park at the hotel it's $16.00 per night and we thought it was more peace of mind that our car wasn't in a mall parking lot all night long. Valet parking is $22.00 per night. Self park is very close to the entrance and you have in and out privilages for your entire stay.

We had breakfast at Sam & Harry's for Sunday brunch and it was excellent. I highly recommend it!!! Starbucks is on the premises and at night there are a few fire pits on a deck above the pool that is very nice to sit at and take in the ocean breeze.

I would absolutely stay here again and we plan to go back soon. The staff was extremely friendly and always wanted to make sure we were satisfied with everything.

We stayed at this Marriott for one night after going to the theater in nearby Costa Mesa. After reading reviews on this site, we specifically asked for a quiet room on a high floor in the tower. The desk clerk took a little time with her computer, but the room we got was worth the two minute wait. It was a king bed room on the 8th floor with a beautiful view over the golf course toward the ocean. We watched a magnificent sunset from our window. The room was wonderfully quiet--not one sound from the adjacent rooms all night. Quiet is a very important feature for us. For dinner, we had quite good sushi at the hotel restaurant "Ben and Harry's" for a reasonable price. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. We took the advice on this board and parked across the street in the fashion island parking lot for free--a very short walk across the street. This saved us the $18 hotel parking. It looked like quite a few other marriott guests were parked there as well! In all, a very good experience at this hotel. Yes, the hike from the front desk to the elevator was long--but worth it.

I travel extensively on business so I'd like to think I write an accurate report. I stayed 6 nights at this hotel (in spite of my threats to vacate). There are two sections, one where you enter your room from outdoor hallways (the main hotel) and a slightly newer inside hallway type section. The rooms and bathrooms in both sections are small, no robes, no mugs, no coffee, although, there are feather beds and duvets. I was thankful that I was traveling alone at this location. I was moved three times because the walls are paper thin and I was constantly calling security late at night. The room service was slow and I had to call 3x's to have a mug delivered. There is only one restaurant and the food was adequate. The brunch was OK, but not spectacular as some have written. The best part of this hotel is the view and Spa Blu. I spent a day there and all the services were outstanding. The Spa outdoor private pool is the place to get away from screaming kids if you are traveling without yours. The location was good in that is it directly across the street from Fashion Island. I would not return to this hotel in spite of the extra effort that the manager put forth to keep me happy.
