The location is great for shopping at Fashion Island, across the street. Staff friendly, front test in particular. Busy and hard to find a doorman. Air conditioning works well, a little noisy. Room decor clean, fresh and colorful. Hard to find a fault, but hard to recommend as a place to stay other than those on business, or a serious shop-a-holic.

Three of us checked in early on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with friendly service, refreshing water, and the beautiful, water-front room that we had reserved. Not all rooms are ocean view and not all ocean view rooms have walk-out balconies but we paid a little extra and it was so worth it. We enjoyed several different spa services and loved having access to the "quiet pool" which is a private pool that is available to spa guests. We had our own cabana and could order food and drinks from the pool bar. It was perfect! For dinner we walked across the way to Flemings and had a fantastic steak dinner (although the restaurant is very loud). After dinner we walked back to the hotel and sat around one of the fire rings that's outside the restaurant. It was a beautiful evening. The next morning we enjoyed the brunch ( I had the buffet and they ordered off the menu). It was over priced, as all hotels are, but not unreasonable and the selection was good. All-in-all, it was a great hotel, even for just a 1 night getaway. There are plenty of amenities at the hotel and plenty of shopping, eating, and entertainment (movie theaters) within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel to locals and tourists alike!

Room Tip: It doesn't get much better than the 9th floor ocean view rooms.

The hotel is located in essentially a commercial center, surrounded by office buildings with a shopping center across the street. Valet parking and self parking are available; for the extra $8 go for the valet, since the self parking lot seemed quite a distance away.

The room was a very nice size, with a balcony view of a golf course and, in the distance, the ocean. The bathroom, however, was disappointingly small. For example, the shower door opened and just missed the toilet by inches. The room and bath were spotless.

Entrance to all of the rooms is via an outdoors walkway. While the room was quiet, you could hear most of the people outside, which was a bit disturbing.

Directly across the street from the hotel is a very large, somewhat upscale shopping center. There are a number of restaurants and lots of interesting (but mostly chain) stores, which provides a nice change of pace.

Overall a nice place if you are in this part of the world for business or perhaps passing through the area.

Room Tip: Top floor gets the best views.

THis is a remarkable tho' somewhat strange hotel. It seems to derive most of its revenue from either Qantas tech crews or convention attendees. not withstanding that our two days were enjoyable and we were regaled with Southern Californian hospitality. My brother, the Q captain who flew us (and 340 of his closest friends) to LA possibly made the experience all the better but the hotel delivered all he promised. The spa massage was great and the location far enough from the beach to be private but close enough for us to hit a couple of very good seafood restaurants, The proximity to Fashion Island was a two edged sword!

Room Tip: get a beach view

We have always been big fans of Southern California - but when we found this resort in the OC we just keep coming back. The resort offers 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villas with a full kitchen (fully equipped), living room and dining room. 3 HD TV's with excellent cable options plus a DVD player and balcony. Location is great - Newport Beach to the right, Laguna to the left. Less than an hour drive from LAX. Close to great shopping - Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza. Disneyland about 25 minutes away. Balboa Peninsula and Catalina Island easily accessible. And that's stuff to do if you don't want to hang at the beautiful resort's pools. It's such beautiful property. Highly recommend !!!!
