This used to be one of my favorite places. I am a local and I have visited the Cannery for 15 years. In recent years, my wife and I plus several guest would go to the Cannery every Friday. Just recently the chef retired and a new chef came on board. The new chef changed the entire menu. Many great items we enjoyed (e.g. the pear salad, or clams dish) have disappeared. We had a hard time finding things we liked. I tried the mushroom soup and there was nothing special about it. It could have come as well from a can. The prices have also steadily risen to the point they make no sense anymore. Say 6 clams for $12, or a glass of wine for $17. I am sad to say we left our comments with the waitress and we are now looking for another restaurant to spend our Fridays enjoying diverse foods that are reasonably priced.
