It was a Thursday night and we decided to head out to Bayside to celebrate my husband's birthday. On the way, I made a reservation using Open Table. Upon arrival, we were greeted very pleasantly by the valet parking attendants. Once inside, we were greeted warmly by the hostess who already knew of our reservation and that we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. We felt at home immediately. One of our favorite jazz pianists was on the piano, Ron Kobiashi. The ambiance was lovely, trendy, yet classy. We were able to enjoy the sunset over the water -- so beautiful.
Our waiter was fun and professional. He took good care of us. He allowed me to taste a couple wines before I made my selection. He was knowledgeable about wine and helped me make a great selection.
My daughter ordered the fresh halibut, husband ordered swordfish and I ordered a salad. Hands down, that halibut was the tastiest, moistest, best prepared halibut I have ever had. I will forever remember how delicious that halibut was. The swordfish was tasty but not as thick as we were accustomed to. The salad was absolutely delicious. But the halibut -- it is apparently in season now -- so if you want an unbelievable halibut experience, go to Bayside now.
The birthday dessert along with the extra bread pudding dessert was a perfect ending to a delicious and memorable meal. The cappuccino was perfectly prepared, including the sugar cube -- which I must say, without that sugar cube, it just wouldn't have been complete!
Every time we go to Bayside, we are not disappointed. This time, we were extremely delighted!
