Went to this place with great expectations! It was packed for lunch. Probably 15 people waiting outside for a table. The sushi was just average. We tried 6 different kinds of Nigiri and 4 rolls. Nothing stands out. It wasn't bad, mind you, just not great. Not that cheap either. $70 for lunch.

If you don't know where it's you won't find it.
What great lunches and dinner I had overthere !
There are a lot of special that you can't find in other places, like Monkfish Liver etc...
Only problem, it's very small and you've to wait

Thank Frederic R

The sushi was great. Luckily we arrived just as they opened. The place has limited seating and judging by the number of people that showed up shortly after us for lunch, this is a very popular spot. A rare day of rain in So. Cal did not keep anyone from making this their lunchtime destination.

You wouldn't think a Japanese restaurant sandwiched between other stores in a little shopping center would be out of the ordinary---BUT ! --in this case, you might have missed some of the most awesome sushi/sashimi/hand rolls ever.
Being near the Pacific Ocean means their chefs can pick the finest and freshest fish: yellowtail, halibut, tuna, salmon, snapper.
The "toro" tuna is the tenderloin of the fish, melt-in-your mouth tender.
There is polite efficient service and a nice spare oriental atmosphere. They don't take reservations, be there early or the place will be crammed with patrons.
Sushi choices are two pieces and sashimi has three. This allows a choice of many little plates to share and you leave well satisfied and not miserably stuffed. Simple nigiri, with a perfect portion of fish draped over a ball of rice is their specialty.
If you're in a quandry, go with "omakase"---chef's choice. Small plates of artistically crafted courses will come out until you've had your fill.
Cucumber and white fish or halibut jazzed up with a jalapeno topping are just some of the delectables. The more tender red snapper is dressed delicately with yuzu and sea salt.
Nana San is the Critic's Choice winner in 2012 for Best in Orange County, no small feat considering the size of Orange County and innumerable competitors. Three of us ate our fill of gourmet delights of the sea for $80. Worth every cent.

This was a last minute choice for a group of friends wanting to get together and eat sushi in So Cal. All I can say is: "fabulous!" We had adults and kids. We did have to wait 40 minutes for a table for 8 but we chatted away and got caught up while the kids skipped and ran outside on the sidewalk (other shops were closed). Cheerful, prompt service. The halibut with jalapeno was such a nice surprise. Just the right amount of spicey pepper with a hint of lemon and it didn't overpower the fish. The cucumber wrapped rolls were to die for. The saba, oh the saba. I don't know if they pickle their own, but wherever they got it from, wow. I agree with other reviewers, definitely worth a visit. We will come back again.
