“Best vacation Hotel ever!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We appreciate the dedication of all the employees at this Marriott Vacation Club. The villa we stayed in #2736 was very clean and had everything we needed. All we had to do was buy food or dine out. The unit is handicap accessibility and made it safe to maneuver around and the balcony had a great view. I used the spa services and was pleased with the services offered. I grounds were kept immaculate and manicured. I will most certainly return for future vacationing. I was true pleasure to stay in such a wonderful place with a great staff, amenities and a beautiful view.

Room Tip: I will mention that the beds were very hard in villa #2736 and out road noise was loud when the balc...

This is one of the nicest timeshare units we've stayed in and we've been in quite a few Marriott properties over the years. This complex is huge! Some 700 units. It's built on a hillside so there are many (if not most) units that have a clear but somewhat distant view of the ocean. The grounds are immaculate, our unit and everywhere we went on the grounds were in top shape. Most buildings have three or four floors so not everyone is going to be able to get a top floor and yes, sometimes you might hear people above you. We really haven't here but you might. It's not that different than living in any apartment complex from that perspective.

This isn't a hotel. Some people seem to confuse it for one but it is not. It's a vacation villa that is part of a very large time share operation. Those of us who enjoy the flexibility of our time share vacation club ownership understand that check-ins aren't until late afternoon and check-outs are mid morning. That is the same whether your're in a Marriott unit in Spain, Costa Rica, Orlando, New Jersey or California. Plan on it.

The sunsets alone are worth the visit.

It is a healthy walk downhill to the beach at Crystal Canyon State Park or you can ride the complex's shuttle bus that makes hourly trips down and back. There are multiple pools on the grounds and plenty of recreational activities. Really nice pools. For most people the point is to be near the beaches, the wonderful towns of Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and just minutes from Disneyland, Sea World and about 75 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

What we've been able to count on in every Marriott timeshare property we've stayed in are comfortable beds, like-new furniture and fixtures, a full kitchen, ample towels and toiletries and good housekeeping.

Room Tip: You can ask for a top floor room but don't count on it.

Nice resort, lovely rooms, full kitchen, great for two couples. But, be aware, two nights, three days actually gives one full day and one evening ONLY. We arrived at 2pm and sat in lobby until 4pm. Check in. STARTS at 4pm, so if busy it will be awhile till you get to your room. One day wasted. Late checkout is 11am, not 1pm as on most nicer places. That day is gone. There were laundry carts on the hall as we got to our room. Really!! No restaurant on site but they did have a bar and grille at the pool. Great staff there. Front desk just knows how to say, "sorry, your room is not ready". So, go for a week and enjoy a 4 or 5 full days. Don't waste your money or points on a long weekend. Also, pretty spread, so be ready to walk. If you have one, the views are gorgeous.

My wife and I stayed at the resort on a promotional deal and were pleased with the accommodations and the service. The sales presentation was not high pressure as many timeshare deals can be. Our room was on the second floor in the middle of the resort. We didn't spend much time in the resort itself, though it seemed nice and not too crowded. We used it as a base for daily activities in the nearby area. We walked down to the beach each day (about a mile each way.) There were very few people at the beach (mid Sept). We spent time in Laguna, Newport and LA. It was a great location and overall was nice and comfortable.

Stayed in July 2012, for a week.
Liked the grounds of this resort, We did not use all the facilities in the resort, as we were busy discovering the beaches and state parks around with many beautiful trails.
The conceirge was so helpful, we used to check with her every morining before we head to the beach or state park, she gave us tips about best way to park around places we want to go to, and was very freindly.
The spa was so good, the massage is tailored to your needs.
Big kitchen with all what we needed.
The location is very good for Laguana Beach or Huntington beach and everything in between.

We had a 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit. It was well decorated and spacious. Our family of four never felt cramped. When grandparents arrived for a few days, the pull out bed/couch in the living room served the children well.

The kitchen was completely stocked with everything that we needed to prepare meals for the entire week.

The pool was always clean & uncrowded. The kids had a blast swimming & playing ping-pong and pool.

The facility is located to many attractions. We took day trips to the Getty-Malibu, Getty@I-405, The Reagan Library, Nixon Library, Bass Pro Shops, the beach and fishing. Close to Disneyland if you are so inclined!

It was a great relaxing week in So. Cal. in the warmth of Newport Beach.

Room Tip: Great family trip & location.

Just spent a week at this location. Perfect. Location is ideal. The units are perfect. Resort very nice but also laid back. You don't need to have money ready to tip but everyone is always there to help if you need. The resort is very clean and managed very well.we bought 5 years ago and our family loves moving back. We have 14 and 12 year old. They hung out in The Shack and had fun when not in main pool. Highly recommend for families.
