“Dump the Bed and The Rating Would be Five”

We chose this hotel due to the close proximity to the First Cabin Restaurant where we were meeting friends. It's easy to get to and relatively inexpensive (the hotel - not the restaurant lol). Also, we really wanted to try sleeping in the sleep number bed, having participated in a demonstration at one of their stores, dialing in our numbers. I don't want to make this a review of the bed rather than the hotel but, since the Radisson chose to promote/use them, it's difficult to completely mitigate their responsibility. Fortunately, we were both in good moods so the experience on the bed was more comical than disturbing. The control unit would only work with a tremendous amount of pressure on the buttons and sometimes did not work at all (Remember we already received a lesson at the Sleep Number Store) When we were able to reduce the number, a series of low volume clicks could be heard but when we raised the number it sounded like the maid had snuck in during the night and started vacuuming right by the bed. It was probably more pronounced due to the pump being close to the wall. If you read complaints about the bed, leaks are a problem and, of course, this pump would come on automatically in the middle of the night to bring the pressure back up. Finally, the middle of the bed seems to be a low point where bodies collide. Anyway we were laughing quite a bit about this wondering if the Radisson executive that chose to enter into the agreement was fired. How in the world would you keep them all working?

Well enough of that, the overall rating only dropped to a four as everything else was outstanding. ALL employees we encountered were very helpful and polite at the front desk, restaurant and bar - so training and employee selection must be consistent and management must be on the ball.

In summary, we will visit again but request a room with a conventional mattress.

Room Tip: Our room was on the side near John Wayne airport but we were not bothered by this. I don't know...

Stayed two nights for a business trip. Location is very convenient (five min) from John Wayne Airport. My queen room was small and older (tiny bathroom, bed and desk took up much of room). But room and hotel lobby area were clean and staff were all polite and very courteous. Breakfast buffet was fresh and good value at $15 pp including coffee.

All aspects of this hotel are great for business and leisure alike.
Myself and my Wife stayed for ten days and felt at home.
The food was excellent, the bar was staffed quite well, the front desk were always more than willing to help.
Pool very clean, gift shop useful and not expensive.
About 10 mins drive from the beach but no problem.
Only tiny gripe was the airport noise. But when you book the hotel, you know the airport is nearby.
It's not overly intrusive and my light sleeping wife didn't feel a problem as air traffic stopped each mid evening.
Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Elise Lopriero was the most pleasant and attentive hotel employee I have seen or had the pleasure of running into in over 3 years. I have nver asked to be checked in by someone at the counter before. But, I would ask for Elise if I was ever in Newport Beach again.

I really enjoyed staying here at this property. Some reviews were not favorable however my stay was great. I think it is important to get a room on a high floor and at the end of the hall. I was lucky to get that here. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. I will return!

Hotel staff is very friendly. The last time I stayed here the sleep number bed didn't turn on+ the bathroom had a leak under the sink. Reported the problems to front desk & left note for management. After the stay the front desk assistant manager got back to me and offered a resolution. Problems in the hotel room is somewhat preventive with a proper maintenance schedule but if hotel staff is not informed then problems won't be fixed until someone else finds it. Overall this hotel is under good management and I will return again when the opportunity arises.

The hotel is clean and the service is good. Lobby was decorated nicely with Christmas decoration. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed: water, coffee, tea,... .

However, the windows were single pane and we could hear outside traffic in our room. Considering that this hotel is located near the airport, management needs to change the windows for guests convenience. I'm not sure if all rooms have this problem but room 410, which we stayed, was not quite at all.
