“Great trip, lots of dolphins but no whales”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We went out with Davey's Locker Whale Watching and enjoyed the trip. The boat was full but not overcrowded, unlike another whale watching boat we saw that appeared to have more people than places to sit on their boat. We were glad we had chosen Davey's! The price was reasonable and the people were very helpful and nice. We brought our own binoculars but they rent good ones for $5 if you don't have them. We parked in the nearby residential section without paying [arrive early and plan to walk a couple of blocks to do the same] - we like walking near the beach and the weather was good. We sat on the top section of the boat but it seemed like everyone had a good chance to see everything - the captain really seemed to know what he was doing and had lots of info about the sea creatures. We saw two types of dolphins, fish and sea lions but no whales, unfortunately. They gave us a 50% discount for future trips and we got one free ticket so we will definitely return. Highly recommend this experience!

“Lovely, relaxing afternoon.”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We used a discount coupon for this trip, we got the coupon from a local tourist information center. There were lots of dolphins and sea lions around the boat but we didn't see any whales, the trip was still great though! The boat stops at various times which means the dolphins come very close to the side of the boat so its great for taking photos. The trip gave us excellent views of the coastline, approximately a 2.5 hour trip and well worth the money. One of the best experiences on my holiday.

“Go early”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

We had a 50% off coupon from the internet and called for reservations. Got there via the balboa ferry which took us right to the location. We arrived early and got a great parking spot in the residential area, otherwise be ready to pay for parking. Had a nice mocha at the Mermaids and asked about where to pay, was directed to the other end of the fun zone. We were on a nice boat with only about 15 other people. There was plenty of great spots for viewing for everyone. We saw dolphins right out of the harbor, then cruising up the coast saw some of the first of the grey whales, what a sight that was. We also saw some fin whales. We've been whale watching in Maui for the humpbacks and love the ocean. It was a nice cloudy day and no problem with glare or sunburn!

“We saw Dolphins and Whales”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

Great experience, clean facilities and great accommodations. We went on a Saturday at 2:30. The boat was full but not overcrowded. They offer hot cocoa, coffee, drinks, even burgers the first part of the trip.

We saw a TON of dolphins! I have never seen that many dolphins at once! We also saw 2 whales, although they weren't very photogenic, and didn't really come out of the water. But it was still Amazing! Wonderful experience and we'll be back.

KEEP IN MIND THERE IS AN EXTRA FUEL FEE WHEN YOU GET THERE: $3.50/pp.

“We saw Blue Whales!!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

The entire experience was great. The Captain asked us if we wanted to take a risk and try and see some Blue Whales he had heard were about or stay nearer shore and see dolphins and maybe some smaller whales - we of course took the risk and after a pretty rocky ride we found them, a mother and baby Blue Whale, they were enormous and such a beautiful sight to see! On the way back to shore we did also see loads of dolphins and some sea lions! All in all a fabulous experience with a great Captain and crew!
