“High hopes low expectations”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. Very cheesy atmosphere and clientele and could not accommodate a special request. Average on everything. Used to specialty chef based cuisine, this is not that. It's a rhinestone version of a local hit spot with cheesy imports from across town.

“very nice”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

we went here for brunch sunday and had a really nice time . If you have tried to get in here for dinner unsuccessfully as we have then to find they had no wait on a sunny sunday morning was a pleasant surprise . Things were not cheap here but the service was very good as was the food so its worth it . We had the seafood enchiladas and a combination plate and I can recommend both . The view of the ocean is not that impressive but still interesting The bar seemed nice we enjoyed a margarita and a Mexican coffee and the do have valet parking . I would recommend calling before coming down don't rush through your meal .

“Fun but average”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

I live here and have been to Javier's many times. It's always fun because of the atmosphere and the food has not disappointed. Even though I eat healthy most of the time, the crunchy shredded beef tacos here are awesome. It's a fun place to come with friends for a drink & kick back but can't have real conversations because it is very loud, especially in the evenings.

“Just a place to be seen”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Met friends at Javier's for a Memorial to a special friend that passed away. She loved the Javier's when it was located in downtown Laguna Beach. Now its in a trendy strip mall in the Newport Coast area. It's nothing like the "old" Javier's! It really looks just like a set for those famous housewives of the OC. If you don't drive a Lotus, skip the valet, hide your Mazda out in the lot. It was super loud and the waiter was 5-star snotty. If you have out of town family, bring them here just to see the Orange County lifestyle people see on TV. But, the food is so so and the house wine is $14 a glass. I miss the original location and vibe.

“Javier's Rocks”
Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

We eat at Javier's at least 2-3 times during our annual 2 week trip. Drinks are great and the food is fantastic. I look forward to it every year. The ambiance is amazing and people watching an added bonus. Always pretty crowded so be prepared to wait a bit. Highly recommend.
