Enjoyed a very nice one-night stay at this delightful BNB, which is old and quaint but provides a great atmosphere for relaxing, sitting on a private balcony or streamside.
Very bucolic setting, ideal for couples. Proprietor Ruth is extremely consumer friendly and, as a longtime local, can tell you everything about Nevada City. Place offers six nice rooms, all different; each with a Victorian name. Highly recommend upstairs king with a soon-to-be-brand new balcony or adjoining Winifred room, which is tiny but has great balcony overlooking stream. Think if you're lucky, you might even catch a trout in this creek since it seems like an ideal fishery. Breakfast delicious as well. Rules of house. Serve yourself home-made cocktail in foyer upon arrival; serve yourself coffee at 7 followed by full breakfast on outdoor patio at 9. check in 3-6 but if you're coming early and Ruth is around, she'll welcome you early, as she did me. This is an expensive BNB but in line with others in area; heavy tourist traffic in summer but extremely easy to get to, since Inn right off Highway 49 and Broad Street. Highly recommended all around!More
