We go to San Diego at least once a year, coming from Ventura County; this was our first time at Villa Manila, just a couple miles south of San Diego and fairly easy to reach from the Zoo and our hotel in Hotel Circle.
They had a special of 2 people for $20, and since it had 2-3 dishes that my wife and I both liked, it was an easy decision. There's one dish for Starters, and an entree of a Noodle dish, and another entree. (Forgot if it was the Early Bird Special from 4-6 pm or not)
We had the Fried Calamari for starters (add $1), Pincit miki-bihon (egg & rice noodle), and the Crispy Pata (add $2), with a big bowl of white rice (which we didn't even eat, as the other 3 dishes were quite plentiful. Calamari was excellent, not over fried. The Pincit miki-bihon was also very good. The Crispy Pata was good, but slightly dry in some pieces, but overly tolerable and still good.
We didn't have any dessert, since we were both stuffed to the gills.
Service with the one waitress was very excellent; she took the time to explain some things to us, and we did ask about other dishes, just in case we wanted to change our minds, since there was so many good things to order!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some genuine Filipino food in San Diego.
