This is a great new hotel! The bed was the most comfortable one we slept in on the whole 2 week trip. The room was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to go into San Diego for the evening, a short drive, and the hotel manager suggested the local trolley so we didn't have to drive after going out for the evening. He drove us to the trolley and on our return trip, we called him when we were 5 minutes out and he was waiting there for us when we arrived. And at no charge to us. They don't have a continental breakfast, but we didn't expect it because they don't advertise that they do. Overall a great place to stay!

We're just from Mira Mesa, but just wanted to get away from the kids and chose something close to Seaport Village and would accommodate our other kid Kona the Dog
We brought our dog for a small fee.
The staff was very proffesional, helpful and looked professional, the place was spotless.
My wife and I are going back tomorrow Oct. 10th 2009, because she has been craving the thin crust Pizza with spicy sausage from the Restaurant, I personally loved the egss benedict.
I'm sure we've all been to High End Hotels, however I found that the staff here was friendlier than some of the more expensive Hotels we've been in.
We have a well trained dog and wondered if we would smell any of the other dogs that have stayed, thankfully, the place was very clean.
I already reccomend to my other pet lover friends.

Great hotel overall, we had a few small issues with the housekeeping staff (not leaving any soaps in the bathroom; but situation was promptly handled by front desk.) Buster's Beach House Restaurant was Excellent. The Margarita's were outstanding., also try their fruit pizza! I basically picked this hotel for it's proximity to the Naval Base. We came to San Diego to welcome home our daughter from a 7 month deployment.

Our family really liked this hotel. It is brand new and even walking to our rooms, we noticed that the hallways were curved, not the straight bland hallways we're all used to, but visually interesting and appealing...and that was just walking to our rooms!
The rooms themselves were spacious and beautiful. Again, all new everything. LOTS of electrical outlets to plug in our family's tons of computer, ipod, cellphone, bluetooth, etc. stuff to charge. I did like that. We got two rooms next to each other and each room was sort of a wedge shape instead of a square or rectangle. It was visually interesting and seemed to make the room seem more spacious somehow. The bathrooms were large, which I liked. There was a refrigerator & coffee maker. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and lovely all-around. The only complaint I would have is that they don't have complimentary breakfast. Oh well...you can't have everything!

Extremely rude, argumentative and unaccommodating staff. We were verbally promised a certain rate because they had no email capability set up at the time we reserved, but when we got there they tried to charge us a higher rate and implied we were lying about the agreement. They couldn't check with the employee who made the reservation because he was off. We were promised it included breakfast which they refused to offer initially, then finally after giving us coupons for the restaurant the next day they actually took them away! They did everything they could to get rid of us, even though we were completely civil the entire time, did not yell or complain loudly, we simply asked for what we had been promised.
The hotel is also not at all like advertised. It's in an industrial area, the ocean is not visible from the ground floor, and construction is still going on in and around the hotel. There was some kind of leak on the main floor and carpet blowers were going the entire day and night.
The staff at this hotel ruined our vacation over a very minor price difference between what we reserved at and what they wanted to charge us when we got there. We booked for a week but could only stand to stay one night. It's simply the worst experience we've ever had at any hotel.

I came across this brand new hotel in a search for accommodations for my upcoming trip to San Diego. Never being there before, I wasn't sure exactly what area was safe and convenient for visitors. There were no photos listed on the website, just a facsimile of the hotel that wasn't even opened yet. The price was excellent, and I figured that with a brand new hotel (regardless of location) how can you go wrong, so I booked my stay... and what an awesome one it was!

The hotel is located (approx.) 15 - 20 minutes outside of San Diego's city centre in what seems to be a brand new area in National City. The staff were all extremely friendly and enjoyed making conversation with the guests!
The hotel boasts a great fitness center inside, and a beautiful gated heated outdoor pool and spa area that's finished off with chairs to lay out in as well as tables and umbrellas if you're seeking some shade. (You should also try and hide under the palm trees!)
The lobby is spacious and very clean, with a comfortable and classy sitting area. The rooms are a great size and very modernized. The room I stayed in was equipped with a king bed, a mini fridge, coffee maker, a huge flat-screen TV, a chair and audomon set, a desk, air conditioning unit, in room safe (which was free) and more!
I didn't get a chance to check out Busters Beach House (the on site restaurant) but it's bright paint and attractive look was very appealing!

To sum it up, this great new hotel was an amazing choice and worth every penny spent! I would definitely return!
