Stayed here one night. Hotel was quiet and Ok, although in the middele of nowhere. No marina seen, no beach seen, ... Like to thank the receptionist for the tip of the Mexican restaurant.

I booked this hotel using several sources. Don't let the "Marina" fool you, it's not really in an area visitors can walk to a Marina. It's a shipyard. The hotel is very conveniently located right off Route 5. Only a few minutes south of the city.

The room was nicely appointed, looked newly remodeled. Everything was working and comfortable. The windows open, nice touch to catch a breeze. There is a side entrance/exit (keycard required), which made coming and going through the curving corridors much more convenient.

There is no restaurant on site, but the coffee maker, microwave and fridge was a bonus for the price. There is a restaurant next door. Our dinner there was moderately priced and the service was excellent. The menu is extensive - something for everyone.

The business center is nicely appointed with 2 computers. Free wifi in the rooms is also nice. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Room Tip: First floor rooms on the end will hear guests coming and going through the side door at all hours...

This hotel was clean, the staff were amazing at answering questions or giving directions. We found the room to be really comfortable and we would stay here again. It's close to beaches, and anything else you would want. We had 2 kids with us and they were just as comfortable as we were.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing the front of the hotel it was a bit noisy.

The staff was excellent from the front desk to the cleaning crew. It is not located by any of the major attractions in San Diego but centrally located to most of them. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The price is a bit steep for the location if not getting a deal through one of the travel sites ($200-$250) but for what I paid ($110) it was a great bargain. Two minor flaws were...no in room movies and no room service.

As stated this is my second stay at this fine establishment. As this is a fairly new property, all of the room features are exceptional. The transportation issue is easily resolved by riding the train which is a ten minute walk away. The train system runs from the Mexican border to downtown, all day and most of the night.Getting back to the hotel is just a phonecall to the front desk and they send the bus to pick you up.Overall I felt safe and confident inside and around the hotel property. The adjacent bar/restaurant was good atmosphere, the bartenders made you feel welcome, food was good, not gourmet by any means, but that's not what they're trying for.True it is located off the beaten path but I liked it.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you can afford it,much larger with a seperate tub shower.

Found this one through a coupon book and got a really good rate (Approx. $80 per night). This is a Hotel not a Motel and rooms are internal - opening onto to internal corridors. The Hotel is either very new or has been given a recent makeover. The whole hotel was in a great state of repair. Rooms were very nice and clean as was the linen. Perfect location for San Diego and not terrible for LA if you fancy a day trip.

My only criticism was that they do not even provide a continental Breakfast, instead they give you a voucher for 10% off breakfast at a neighbouring restaurant. This restaurant is nice but pricy!!

Loved our stay at this hotel. It's new, it's modern and it's clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Each question and request were met with a smile :) The rooms were big and had all the necessary amenities, including very very comfty beds. Never a problem having good a night sleep. The pool area was a bit small, but the jacuzzi makes up for it. They have a great espressomachine in the lobby. The hotel is just a short drive away from several attractions, including city center. If you ever get tired of malling, dining and shopping, the beaches nearby are totally worth the visit.
