Our daughter had been in napa a month ago and recommended The Farm. Our reservation was honored and we were seated within 10 minutes of arrival for a 7:45 rervation on 8/19. Hostess and waiter were friendly and helpful. Food was terrific. I had duck and my wife had halibut. Preparation was perfect and presentation artistic. Also thought prices were fair. There is many excellent restaurants in Napa, but I would not hesitate to recommend The Farm.

We visited Napa this past weekend and chose to dine at The Farm last Saturday night (based on some of your reviews). We booked a reservation 7 days in advance and still could not get a decent dining hour - our reservation was at 5:15 pm. Between 5:00 and 7:00pm the Restaurant was 1/2 empty. Service is stiff and marginal, and that became our opening impression of Carneros/Farm. There were 4 of us and for an appetiser we ordered their Ahi Tuna and Vegetable Salad. What we should have done upon being served was to refuse the food and simply walk away. The $17.00 Ahi provided 5 checkerboard sized, thin strips of tuna, and the $13.00 Salad consisted of 5 green beans and 5 teeny tiny pieces of lettuce, measuring less than a cup. My rabbit would starve to death by morning, should I feed it like that. If you are like us....healthy, active, fit, and reasonable about the quantity and quality of the food you intake then this place will infuriate you! Of our entire weekend visit to Napa and Sonoma, this was the most disappointing experience of the 4 day weekend.

What a nice dinner we had... the patio is perfection and so was the carpaccio... the restaurant is large and with all the hard surfaces is can be a bit loud but the seating is comfortable and the staff are very attentive. The wine list is more than adequate to accompany any dish and the desserts were heavenly... a very nice meal indeed and we would return...

It is definitely not your typical farm setting. At the entrance to the Napa valley, the Carneros Inn is in an obscure location, so you really have to look for the entrances. The Farm restaurant has a wonderful outdoor patio complete with fire pit, as well as outdoor seating for meals. Our wait staff were all impeccable and have definitely been trained on the preparation of menu items. They use the freshest sustainable and organic products and have their own gardens. The dishes range from light fare to some very rich tasting entrees. My favorite appetizer is the Tuna Carpaccio infused with all it's wonderful flavors. The chilled corn and crab soup was also good, as well as the scallops which are cooked to perfection. A trio of desserts topped off our dinner which was presented on a plate complete with handmade chocolate decorations. The chef always manages to make you feel special by sending out items for you to taste. It's the little things sometimes that makes the whole experience enjoyable and The Farm definitely delivers. I recommend they reopen for lunch during the summer months - it's to nice outside not to enjoy it.

We had an enjoyable experience at the Farm. The food is very good. We enjoyed having a drink outside before dinner and I recommend leaving extra time to sit outside. It is really a beautiful place and I look forward to visiting again.
