On an scant lead provided by a friend and without the usual directions of a smart phone or directional device of any kind, four strangers set out to find the Oxbow Public Market. We trudged through downtown Napa in search of this mythical land of options, delicacies, and reasonable value. Over the river, through the woods (I stumbled into some landscaping along the way... not really woods), and a measly 5 minute walk later, there it was.
Serious eats from a wide variety of genre and ethnicities line the walkways within the well apportioned structure. Venezuelan, Italian, American, whatever the nationality, there was a food option for each of us. Like a mall food court hopped up on steroids, the Oxbow Public Market provides all comers an opportunity to indulge a Napa cuisine experience. The expanse of edible creations are a cross section of Napa's food scene without delivering the smugness or expense of the same. Gourmet without the pretense.
Members of our party had everything from roasted lamb tacos, margarita pizza, and Korean short ribs to ice cream and cupcakes. Again, the offerings run the gamut.
If eating isn't your thing, then drinking surely is. Coffee, tea, wine (of course... we are in Wine Country), and other assorted adult beverages accompany the dietary delights, and tantalize throughout the visit.
A fun filled food fiesta for any group of people seeking options for their disparate culinary desires.
