“A Nor Cal Food Extravaganza”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

On an scant lead provided by a friend and without the usual directions of a smart phone or directional device of any kind, four strangers set out to find the Oxbow Public Market. We trudged through downtown Napa in search of this mythical land of options, delicacies, and reasonable value. Over the river, through the woods (I stumbled into some landscaping along the way... not really woods), and a measly 5 minute walk later, there it was.

Serious eats from a wide variety of genre and ethnicities line the walkways within the well apportioned structure. Venezuelan, Italian, American, whatever the nationality, there was a food option for each of us. Like a mall food court hopped up on steroids, the Oxbow Public Market provides all comers an opportunity to indulge a Napa cuisine experience. The expanse of edible creations are a cross section of Napa's food scene without delivering the smugness or expense of the same. Gourmet without the pretense.

Members of our party had everything from roasted lamb tacos, margarita pizza, and Korean short ribs to ice cream and cupcakes. Again, the offerings run the gamut.

If eating isn't your thing, then drinking surely is. Coffee, tea, wine (of course... we are in Wine Country), and other assorted adult beverages accompany the dietary delights, and tantalize throughout the visit.

A fun filled food fiesta for any group of people seeking options for their disparate culinary desires.

“Great eating options”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Many reasonable options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you are into oysters, make sure you try the $1.25 per oyster special from 5-7 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“Like the San Francisco Ferry building without the Pacific Ocean”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

A lovely location filled with fresh oysters, cheese, food and purveyors.

Not a large location but it has lots of businesses and artisan foods.

I did not purchase any food, but what I could see and smell looked wonderful.

Definitely a nice place to visit and grab a nosh.

This is not like a large farmers market. It is cozy, small and high end foods.

“Meet your friends, eat your way through the afternoon--just a short walk from downtown hotels.”
Reviewed November 8, 2012 via mobile

I often.meet friends at the Oxbow for lunch, occasionally for dinner. No one has to plan anything--just show up, go on a scavenger hunt for menus that appeal (Mexican, pizza, Italian, salads, or just dessert); there are a variety of restaurant vendors at the Oxbow, and many just excellent.

On Saturday and Tuesday mornings during summer months, the farmer's market holds sway in the parking lot next door to the Oxbow. Tourists will find all sorts of goodies there, including lots of local color. Finish with lunch in the Oxbow. It is in walking distance of many hotels.

“Great Market”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Why doesn't Sydney have something like this? All the food choices you need here if you're looking for a bite and that small market feel with fresh produce and novel food items to take away with a few knick-knacks thrown in for good measure.
