Had a blast. James, our tour guide, was excellent. Forgot sunglasses on the bus and they shipped them back home! Cannot express how much this means! Amazing company - highly recommend!
Roxy was our tour guide she picked us up in front of the ferry building in San Francisco. she was awesome , we had a great group of people om the bus with us . so the bus ride was filled with laughter and so much fun. I liked that we went to four differrent wineries . They were all uniqe and differrent in their styles. the lunch and snacks that were provided were yummy :).. It was such a nice experience I would book another tour with them again.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Platypus Wine Tours!! I planned my sisters Bachelorette Napa weekend and Platypus exceeded my expectations from the moment I booked the tour to our tour host "Sherman" he was simply AMAZING!! I am definitely going to use them in the future and have already been recommending the company to more family/friends. TOP NOTCH!! I give them 5 STARS!!!
My husband and I took this tour last year and loved it so much we thought we'd take it again. Sherman was a great host and was very knowledgable about the valley and wine making.
Even though this was our second time with Platypus it was like a whole new tour. New wineries, new views of the valley and new perspectives on wine.
We will definitely go back for a third tour.
My wife and I were in Napa after a long absence (35 years) and were somewhat overwhelmed by the changes and choices now available. Lisa, the friendly concierge at the Napa River Inn (a great place to stay in Napa), recommended the Platypus tour which would stop at four smaller family-type wineries and offer a more personal experience. She said that Platypus would also supply lunch, snacks and water. Additionally, Platypus had arranged special tasting rates with the wineries. Better still, our tour was led by Chris whose knowledge of wine making and appreciation, friendliness and personal style made the trip a real success. Sipping wines among the vines while enjoying a tasty lunch prepared by Chris at one of the wineries made the day. Our small group that day included friendly and personable couples from across the US and one from Sweden. We were all so engaged that there was little time to look out the windows to enjoy the scenery so we retraced our path the next day (sans tastings) in our rental. Clearly, small wineries with Platypus is a winner.
