“Great gem!”
Reviewed December 27, 2007

I have only positive things to say! Our room had a fireplace, and was very well maintained. We had no problems with the wireless internet. They had great customer service, and were very helpful with dinner and winery suggestions. Breakfast was good, and they had a good variety of food for a continental breakfast. The location would probably be walking distance to restaurants in the summer, but it was a little cold to do so in the winter! We were next to the elevator, and had no problems with noise from the elevator or other rooms. Excellent stay!

One warning: we flew in to San Francisco, rented a car from Payless Rent-a-car, and drove to Napa. We had mechanical problems and Payless employees were very unhelpful. We also had a bad experience with Payless in Denver, and will never rent from Payless again. They are the cheapest car rental for a reason!

This place is awesome. Simply put, it's one of the best bed and breakfast style places i have ever been too, even though thats not how it is listed. We just got engaged and were staying at this hotel and believe me that staying there was a real treat! In the afternoon they had warm cookies and for breakfast they fed us large belgin waffles. What more could you ask for? The inn staff were simply incredible and friendly all the time. Made us both feel like we were at home, especially since they decorated the lobby with Christmas decor. The bed was listed as a queen, but they were more like a king and were super comfortable.

The only two very very minor complaints that i have is that the fireplace room isn't real wood (just gas), and the soap that is provided had some black spots in it which were kinda rough on my skin (natural to the soap itself). Other than those very minor complaints, this place is simply one of the best properties around!

This Inn was so wonderful in many areas. When you first walk in it is very inviting with a lovely lobby with a sofa and chairs around a fireplace with fresh baked cookies and hot apple cider available. The staff was very friendly and even recommended a nice spot for dinner and offered to call to make a reservation for us! The room was super cute and extremely clean! Comfortable bed and great decor!!! We were in the "new" building that is not attached to the original and has parking that is off the main busy road. We will stay here again the next time we visit Napa and will recommend to everyone we know! Also a great breakfast with waffles made by request and multiple other treats! Can't wait to get back!

My brother and I spent a couple of nights here at the end of November. We needed a place to "crunch numbers" and do some year-end work/strategic planning for our company. I decided to give the Elm House a try because of all the positive posts here at TripAdvisor.

The whole experience was wonderful - in fact we're bringing our wives back so we can enjoy the hotel/area when we don't have to worrry about business. The rooms have both wireless and Ethernet connections - so we were both able to fire up our laptops and plug into the office.

The Elm House is a comfortable 20 minute walk from downtown Napa - along the way you can admire a number of restored Victorians. We like to walk and we don't like to drive after drinking, so this was perfect for us. It also gave us a chance to stretch our legs after sitting in front of laptops for hours. I think we made the walk 5 times over the two days we were there.

This is NOT your typical Best Western - I think it only has 10 rooms - 6 upstairs and 4 downstairs. Think "small, country inn" and you'll have a better idea of what the hotel is like. The staff is wonderful, the breakfasts ARE better than most continental breakfasts, and you have to try the Belgium Waffles.

This place is a great value for the area - I think we paid about $100 a night. For the price (or twice the price) you can't beat it. My only concern now is that the more people who hear about/experience this place, the harder it will be to get reservations.

Stayed here last weekend with friends and LOVED it! The staff was exceptionally helpful and the breakfast is to die for. It's the greatest continental breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. We made sure to get a freshly made waffle every morning. The cookies in the afternoon was a nice touch too. So good!

Other bonuses.... we had two sinks in our double room. So one was in the bathroom itself and one was right outside. This made getting ready in the morning a breeze. No more waiting on one another to get ready. Free (and ample) parking was also a big plus. No matter what time we came and went, we never had problems parking when we came back.

There is also a Safeway a few blocks from the hotel. This was nice because it allowed us to get a big case of water to keep in the room/car. And we definitely went through it. Overall, I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Napa. Who knew a Best Western could feel like a cozy B&B??

Lovely Inn. We recently stayed here during a weekend trip to Napa.

Our room was well appointed. The Inn has a secret garden in the back. Breakfast was prepared and ready for us daily. There was always a nice snack in the evenings when we arrived back at the Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful.

They are well organized and able to get you suggestions on restaurants and area attractions.

I've attached a picture of the main lobby that I took - we stayed right before Thanksgiving.

Had a wonderful stay at the Elm House. Very clean, comfortable beds, lovely ambiance. Yes it is on a busy street but when you walk through the inviting lobby and smell the fresh cider and feel the warmth from the fireplace all is right with the world. Excellent Inn.
