We stayed here for a weekend trip in Napa in early spring. The location, rooms and service were wonderful. The rooms had a great view on the Napa River and were spacious. Excellent service from the front desk staff!!! Breakfast was included which was really great also!!

My wife and I just returned from 4 days/3 nights in Napa. Even though it is considered offseason, hotel rates were fairly expensive throughout Napa, Yountville, and St Helena. I originally booked a place in Sonoma, but changed to the Napa River Inn on a recommendation from a local friend and after finding a special on Travel Zoo. I have nothing but good things to report. The location is fantastic. There is plenty of parking, it is right downtown with easy entry and exit north to the wineries and you are within walking distance to some good restaurants and entertainment when you just don't feel like getting in the car. The staff was very friendly and the bellman gave some great tips to get us started. You can also walk to the welcome center a block down the street to make last minute plans for your trip. Our room was nice with a gas fireplace and a view of the river. It wasn't completely modern and up to date, but it had a warm feel and provided plenty of space. The shower was good and the bathroom was pretty big. It's a comfortable place to come back to at the end of each day.

The stay included a small breakfast delivered each morning from the sweet shop next to the hotel. After the first night we actually starting going down to the shop each morning and eating there. We met some great people that way and got to see all the great food they have to offer.

I would absolutely stay there again on future trips to Napa. For the rate we got, it was a great stay and was much cheaper than a lot of other alternatives in the area.

Room Tip: We were in the Embarcadero building on the second floor. The only thing that worried us initially is...

Perfect location for walking around downtown Napa...shops, wine bars, good restaurants. Note if you want to be in "main" building you have to reserve these Deluxe rooms which are more $$. First room I got was quite small and VERY dark. Inn was very accommodating in moving me to other room -- showed me two and I opted to pay slightly more for larger, sunny room. Continental breakfast included is nothing special... By time it gets to room, coffee is lukewarm. Again, the Inn's staff are very service-oriented and responsive.

Room Tip: In main Inn or facing the river.

By chance we stayed at the incredible place. Did the reviews on TripAdvisor before hand, Once we arrived they upgraded our room to the river view. Staff were a big help, cleanliness and decor were very good. The breakfast vouchers at Sweetie Pies was an extra delight...great bakery and the like. Close to so many places to walk to. Well worth the cost if you want a great place close to everything down town. Oh, by the way, the beds were the best we have slept on.

Room Tip: Free parking, wonderful deck to sit out on.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a trip to Napa Valley. Great location and liked the historic nature of the building but not quite up to the price tag. For example, a continental breakfast was included but a coffee order consisted of a single cup of coffee. No pot, no french press just a lonely mug filled with coffee. Room was comfortable and fairly quiet. I think in the summer the walk way overlooking the river would be fantastic. I would also suggest replacing the clock radios. Needed an engineering degree to set the correct time and set the alarm. Just a few small up scale touches could make a huge difference.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a river view. We looked out onto a street and it brought a little noise with...

We had a fabulous 24 hours! The rooms are lovely, overlooking the river with the wonderful walkway is very pleasant (and eating breakfast on the balcony in warmer weather would be a fun). Great restaurants nearby. Sleep was excellent, very comfy beds! And an unexpected treat: we loved the art work on the walls of our room. One artist particularly called to us...we googled her, discovered she was in Calistoga and teaching a class we could drop in to that very afternoon! All around very special time!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful, historic hotel in downtown Napa! The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and has some of the friendliest staff ever! Our check-in experience was really easy and just reinforced our excitement about being there to celebrate a romantic birthday weekend. Our room was gorgeous and the bed was so comfortable that I made a note to ask about the brand!!! The location is awesome, situated near several great bars and restaurants. We were given vouchers upon check-in for a free wine tasting at The Bounty Hunter, where we also had a really great, casual dinner and fabulous wine. We enjoyed breakfast in bed from Sweetie Pies bakery, lovingly delivered by one of the hotel's super friendly bellmen. Though the weather was a bit too chilly to fully appreciate our balcony, we enjoyed having it as an option and we also took full advantage of the fireplace in the room as we lounged in the cozy, spa-like bathrobes. The staff went above and beyond with their hospitality in helping arrange delivery and set-up of a surprise birthday balloon bouquet and champagne before we arrived. We had such a great experience at the Napa River Inn! We can't wait to go back!
