“Beautiful and romantic stay”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Napa River Inn in an executive suite with fireplace located in the embarcadero building. Our room was a corner room facing the parking lot and residential area which was not a bad view. I know there are a lot of recommendations for a river view but at night it is overlooking the river as well as the main road and we were plenty happy with how nice our room was over the view. The river is a nice view but not as breathtaking as I imagined. The executive suite was very nice and large and worth the extra money (it was only $20 more). We originally upgraded for the fire place which was nice but the gas fireplace did not have a very big flame. It was still nice but you had to be pretty close to it to really enjoy it's warmth. But after seeing the room, it still made it worth the upgrade even if the fireplace wasn't as great as I had hoped. The bed is very nice and the room is clean and elegant with a historical charm. We stayed on a Thursday night so the hotel and surrounding was very quite which we enjoyed. When we booked we got a deal that included credit to a local restaurant and their standard breakfast delivered to your room. We stayed at The Pear for a delicious southern meal and loved our breakfast in bed. The breakfast is from a local bakery that was both delicious and filling (but no Denny's if that's the type of breakfast you are expecting as some reviewers complained the breakfast wasn't much). We loved that the location was right in downtown where we could walk around as well as walking distance from the Oxbow market. The information building which is just a few doors down from the hotel offers lots of helpful information about wineries and other things to see and do during your stay in Napa.

Room Tip: Executive suite with a street view was still nice, romantic, and quiet. Don't need a river view...

We are locals who live an hour away and who have been to Napa and the Napa Valley many times. We wanted something simple, relaxing and reasonably priced. The Napa River Inn location was perfect in that regard: on site parking, room ready early, gracious staff, easy walk to dinner. Our Embarcadero room was fine overall...clean, neat, nicely appointed...and gratefully on the second floor with a private balcony and river view. Also gratefully, the weather was warm and pleasant so we could open our door to the balcony; otherwise the room would have been rather dark during the day, even with the window curtains open. We were told the automatic gas fireplace had not been working and was fixed prior to our arrival, but it worked for only a few minutes. Breakfast was delivered to our room on time by a very pleasant staff member. Everything was good and as ordered. Overall this was a good choice for us.

First....Location was great for walking, dining and exploring the downtown area of Napa.
Front desk was great! I did ask for early check in by an hour....but that was not granted...
a small disappointment.. Room was nice especially for the price we received on Travelzoo..
Includes breakfast and Morimoto restaurant discount and yes an in room "Keurig"coffee maker. The only room disappointment was that we had an end room, first floor(Embarcadero building) with an air conditioner/heater that was loud...
Front desk recommended "The Bounty Hunter". Great for a little wine tasting and if you are a meat eater...a "must go". Morimoto restaurant was an experience..Food was good...nothing over the top and service was slow but that is what you get by going to a busy, more commercial type restaurant with great decor...Check out the Oxbow market...then head up to the ambience of the Napa Valley... Yountville and St Helena.....

Room Tip: Had an end room and end of parking lot In the Embarcadero building first floor...large room, view of...

We stayed at the Napa River Inn because of a deal on TravelZoo. The rooms in Napa were very over priced and we had given up trying to find something reasonable. The deal we got was excellent and came with a $50 credit toward one of 3 restaurants nearby. We went to Pear which was also excellent. The room was clean and well equiped. The even include breakfast to be delivered to your room in the morning at the time of your choosing which we found very nice.

The location of the Napa River Inn can't be beat! From the Inn, one can walk to downtown Napa and all the shops and restaurants. It's a lovely setting on the Napa River, and having breakfast included was a nice perk. The bed was comfortable, and we loved having a fireplace, as well as an in-room Keurig, complete with cream in a mini fridge!

The only disappointment was that we had to keep our curtains drawn, as people continued to use the balcony outside our room (which could be accessed by a common door) to talk and smoke! When we go back to Napa, we will request a different room, since most of the river facing rooms had private balconies.

Room Tip: If you book a room facing the river, ensure that you do not have a shared balcony.

The Inn is very cozy and located in the best part of town. The staff is always very helpful and the concierge will get you reservations, trasportations, tastigs etc. You are in the middle of town, walking distance from all the shops, bars and the best restaurants in town.

We were here for three nights in August, and found the location to be great--walking distance to the downtown restaurants and Oxbow Market. We had a top floor corner room overlooking the river, and were very happy with hotel staff and service. There is a continental breakfast included in the room price, provided by an adjacent bakery, and the baked goods are of quite high quality. I would recommend this hotel over the Andaz, the only other place I've stayed in Napa.

Room Tip: Ask for the new building, corner facing courtyard. Room is a little bigger, and has a nice view.
