The hotel buildings are historic (brick walls, high ceilings, etc) but have all the modern conveniences tastefully added. The hotel is located along the river and just an easy stroll to shops & other sites. Staff was helpful and courteous. The breakfast at Sweetie Pie's was bountiful and delicious. The food and service at Angele was outstanding.

Ate at Morimoto's. Not a sushi fan. My whole fish was the most beautiful presentation I have ever had for a whole fish, but saying that the sauce was so darned hot I could not eat it. Scraped the fish from the back of the fish. Had the seared scallops. Delicious. Too bad the Japanese do not serve bread. That scallop sauce just ached to be sopped up! Left hungry at $139 for the two of us before tip.

We loved our stay at the Napa River Inn! The location is ideal. We stayed in an "Executive Room" which is larger than the standard. We loved the restaurants nearby and look forward to our next stay there.

it was a special treat, to stay at the Napa River Inn in Napa. It is a great lacation, with the Napa Valley welcome center accross the street, with super friendly, most helpfull staff. A lot of great food/drink locations within walking distance.
Super clean, breakfast served in room. Great bath products."sweetie pie bakery" adjacent, with delicious treat (also providing the breakfast items/choices).
We spend 2 nights at the Inn, followed by 2 nights at a bed in breakfast in Yountsville.
Wich wasn't nearly as nice and pleasant, also only "cheaper" by ~$20/night.
This trip was a present to me, a week in Napa Valley, it was wonderful. Highly recommand it. Yountsville has great dining oppurtunities as well, as the proximity to a lot of other great wineries, just didn't enjoy the place we stayed there nearly as much.

My husband and I are both about to start new jobs and I wanted to plan a special 36 hour getaway in the Wine Country. TravelZoo offered an amazing deal $239 includes one room, $100 gift certificate to Angele for dinner, breakfast for two at Sweetie Pie's, bicycle rentals & two for 1 coupons for winetasting at a number of different wine houses in downtown Napa.
We checked into the Napa River Inn & they upgraded us to a River View deluxe room which was lovely. The room was beautifully appointed & spacious, including deep, luxurious bathrobes. The bed was 'heavenly', big, comfy, perfect for an afternoon 'honeymoon'. The Napa River Inn is centrally located & is walking distance to all of the best restaurants in Napa - Angele & Celadon (both next door), Morimoto, Tyler Florence's Rotisserie & Wine, and Fish Story. We walked over to the Oxbow Market for picnic gear and took advantage of the spectacular weather while we drank rose & munched on nibbles. Dinner at Angele under the stars was terrific (they have a new chef). We will (I hope soon) return to The Napa River Inn!

Room Tip: Sunday-Thursday, ask for a room upgrade.

As soon as we walked up to the frontdesk we were greeted by friendly, polite, informative staff. They offered to store our bikes at the front desk.
Our room had every possilble comfort thought of top quality linens, pillows, bed, lotions etc. So nice to have all the comforts of home with a private balcony with a view and yet walk two minutes to quality restaraunts, music, shops, spa, riverwalk. We would give this Inn five stars!

Room Tip: We liked P building top floor.

Who knew such an elegant, sophisticated, and beautifully understated hotel would exist in downtown Napa. We spotted it on our way to Angele, the restaurant next door, and were captivated by the historical charm of its setting. On a warm evening it was very alluring. When we asked to stay the next morning, the staff was so helpful and courteous, they immediately arranged for a room to be available and we were in by 11 in the morning. It's a peaceful, lovely setting on the Napa River - our room had a fireplace, exposed brick and a great Keurig coffee maker. There are common patios as well to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon. Since it is at the end of Main Street there is an "old world" charm about the few blocks of the Mill, ample, safe parking and several excellent restaurants to choose from. How nice to saunter Main Street in the evening, enjoy dinner or a glass of wine and retreat to our lovely room for a nightcap in front of the fire. And the gratis breakfast couldn't have been tastier - the Sweetie Pie bakery had clearly just made the morning buns and the egg sandwiches were just delicious. I honestly don't think I will ever stay anywhere else again while visiting Napa.
