My first disappointment was finding the property on the very edge of town as far away from the 'wine country' as it could get. It was also not in the nicest neighborhood. We were put in a room away from the street as requested, but apparently this hotel is popular with construction crews in town working and we had three rooms full men drinking beer and standing outside their rooms smoking and talking very LOUDLY till after midnight. We called the front desk several times and they were unable to do anything about it. The following day the staff moved us to another room while we were out wine tasting and we returned to find ourselves in a room at the front of the hotel on a busy street listening to traffic all night.

The rooms themselves were clean if a bit spartan, they had fresh paint, it took forever for cold water and the bathroom light seemed to be hit or miss if it would turn on. We had one white hand towel and three dingy grayish bath towels. The hot waffles and espresso machine at breakfast was a nice touch.

This was a pleasant surprise. On approach to the lodge in the dark, it looked like it was in a rough and busy area with the flyover close by but it was actually quite tranquil and the traffic noise could not be heard. Front desk was friendly. The rooms were a good size, very clean and good value however the towels were quite old and tired. The bathroom was cold however it was spotless. There was free internet and complimentary breakfast was served in the breakfast room where you could actually sit and eat there instead of taking it back to your room. Its location was close to downtown Napa by car. It was easy to get to the wineries and the Silverado Trail.

My boyfriend and I were on a road trip through Northern California and decided to stop off in wine country for a few days. We consulted our oh so handy AAA book and decided on The Wine Valley Lodge after doing a drive by. We got a kick out of it's motel style layout!

We found the man at the front desk completely charming and our room was more than adequate. It was very clean and safe, and it showed absolutely no wear and tear. The fridge was very convenient as it allowed us to store a few provisions for our two night stay. We're both smokers and all of their rooms are non-smoking. No biggie - all we had to do was open the door and step outside. All rooms have a chair outside, which was a nice, comfortable touch.

The Wine Valley Lodge's location was a good jump off point for us since it's convenient to the highway. We had a swell time visiting several wineries and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

I am totally new to US and arrived from Irland. I was surprised through the way motel facility had treated us. Very good location in Napa Wine valley where you can go the best restaurants, bike ride & wine train station. This is a very clean and nice property of one story bldg. Outdoor pool is real fun with picnic area where you can meditate and barbacue both.
Quite location with even local trasportation and buses. Well managed continental break fast every thing is brand named.
Mattresses are new along with carpet in all rooms.
Winery are very nearby.
I feel like safe place to pass my relax time to this motel

We stayed in this hotel one night while visiting Napa Valley. We made reservations from their web site. I called a couple of days later to confirm and they could not find our reservations. But then they did. So make sure you call if you make reservations online.

The location is pretty good. It s off of the highway in Napa. You need a car if you want to visit wineries.

It is a basic hotel with very minimal amenities. The gentleman at the front desk is nice and helpful. There were lots of families when we we there. It gets a little noisy. They have continental breakfast; cereal and pastries, coffee, tea and juice.

The price of this hotel is very good considering the other Napa hotels. You can stay here if you are in a tight budget, and want basic accomodations for a short stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed there the memorial day weekend on the Sat. and Sun nights. We booked with less than a week's notice so there wasn't a lot of choice in the area. This place was about $120/night which wasn't bad given the short term booking and based on the prices of other places that still had availability.

The only staff we dealt with was when we checked in at the front desk, and he was pleasant.
The room was basic - it had a tv, clock radio, and desk in addition to the bed - sufficient for us since we were only sleeping there.
The continental breakfast is limited as mentioned, but it's convenient if you want to get something small and quick before heading out.

Parking was ample - we had no problem parking in front of our room.

The rooms aren't very sound proof, but as long as your neighbors aren't too noisy then that shouldn't be a problem either.

All in all, a reasonable place to stay if you're not looking for anything special.

The Wine Valley Lodge was a bit pricey for the money due to the fact that it is in a flood zone and we were right in the middle of the December 31st floods. The staff was nice enough to call us and offer help to evacuate, but I now know why the parking lot was so desolate for it being a holiday week.

The room had not been used in a while--the first odor we smelled when entering was mildew (after the flooding I know why, the water came in from the bathroom and carpeted closet) The bathroom faucet ran brown rusty water for several minutes and we chose to buy some bottled water.

Room was clean and very quiet, except for some drunk teens who just wanted to park, then puke in the parking lot the night before the flooding began. Very interesting experience. Probably won't get any kind of a refund, since we were checking out on flood day anyway, but if the owner or manager reads this and wants to practice good customer service, a credit would be appreciated.
