Even though this place was built in 1953 it is superbly maintained. Our room (on the right side) even had crown moulding in addition to the usual TV, refrigerator, free internet access and microwave. You won't find a place much cheaper but is it really worth double what you pay here for a fancy lobby, exercise room, meeting rooms, restaurant and all the other things you really don't need or won't use? Judy at the front desk was extremely charming and helpful, booking a winery tour and a balloon ride for us and confirming them.

You won't find a better value for the money---and you might stay in the same room which once housed Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley!

Room Tip: We were told that the rooms on the right side were newly remodeled and that the rooms on the left are next inline. Ask first.

This place was simple, clean, quiet and inexpensive. I had a very enjoyable stay here taking the 15 minute walk down the road to the town centre. Not too much to do there but some nice places to eat in the evening. The pool was clean but the furniture surrounding it could do with updating.
Word of warning, do a little research if you plan to take a wine tour and don't book through the hotel. I paid $99 for a wine tour and that didn't cover the wine tastings.

You just never know exactly what you're getting when you book on line but we were not disappointed. Our room was nice and clean. The landscaping was gorgeous. The pool was nice but it was a little too cool to enjoy. If we ever go back to Napa we would book this hotel again.

Room Tip: Our room didn't have a bath tub but the bathroom was really updated.

We arrived at the lodge only at the evening for a one-night stopover stay. The room was clean though a little tiny and tired-looking. Parking is convenient as it is just outside the room, but that also means you can smell the exhaust from inside the room.

Wireless connection inside the room was spotty. The heater/air-conditioner unit was a tad noisy; not sure if it is a maintenance problem. The breakfast mainly comprised cereals and pre-packed snacks for on-the-go. Given its location, the lodge is considered value-for-money.

Our stay was much nicer than I expected. We were only visiting Napa for one night and just needed a cheap place to catch some zzzzz's. We were a bit unsure as we pulled up, but as soon as we checked in and drove back into the property, our minds were put at ease. Our room was very recently redone ... it actually smelled a bit like paint in there, but not too bad. It had some nice touches with the crown molding and unique fixtures in the bathroom.

The only complaint, which would be very easy to fix, is the continental breakfast. Cereal and bananas with some pre-packaged sweet rolls was a bit disappointing, considering how we had been pleased with the room quality. Just plan a breakfast stop before stopping at your first tasting.

I would stay here again since this is a very minor gripe.
