Now don't get me wrong; I love adventure as well as the next person but this Motel is not what one should consider unless there is no alternative.
True, hospitality varies and a room should enclose the visitor and shelter the visitor from the outer world. To that degree, BW @ Vines works. Its open Patio, Pool and Whirlpool are useful to the traveler and charming to the visitor. It is well situated for the business traveler but the environment is not the best for the traveler.
The embedded restaurant is a Denny's; which is popular with the local crowd. Visitors to the Motel get to share the parking lot with local characters.
This facility is in the "Gateway" area of Napa; at the SOUTHEAST entry to the city. It is handy to Big Box stores like Home Depot, chain and fast food dining, new and used car dealers, Gas Stations and to better parts of the world.

Wow nappa valley, we were excited ...

But after seeing the location of the hotel, I thought never a best western again. Located on a very busy street. Decorated half way : nice new window treatment and bedding but ugly wall paper. Tiny pool surrounded by an ugly fence.

Free Dennys breakfest, not very in the spirit of the valley

The closer you book your trip the more willing the hotel is to negotiate the price and stay length. Overall a cheap place to stay for a night or two. It's pretty clean. Hallways are kinda old smelling and it looks worn, but the staff was pleasant and accomodating.

Great hotel for families. The room was decorated really nice and the Denny's breakfast was great. They also heat their pool and keep the jacuzzi at a very nice temperature. The only complaint would be the hallways. They smelled like body odor but once in the room you are fine. The person at the front desk said it was the air freshener they spray but it was really bad. Don't let that deter you though, everything else was great. The price should be about 15% less though. Note that this location is at the entrance of the valley so if you want the wine country experience you might want to check out the Best Western on Calistoga. Once last thing--they charge me almost $3 for a call within the same area code. I should have used my cell.

This place was better than I expected. The staff was friendly, there was free high speed wireless access, the room was clean, and it is located really close to the center of Napa. Its not a high-end hotel by any measure, but if you are looking for a decent hotel in a very expensive area, this place is it.

I recently stayed here during a weekend of wine tasting and bike riding. The room was sufficiently clean and well-kept and the staff was friendly, but the hotel was not without problems. For starters, the building has to be the worst insulated place I've ever stayed. We could hear every last thing the people upstairs were doing. Just walking around make the entire ceiling creak and crack. It sounded like they were going to crash through the ceiling. HORRIBLE building. The mini-fridge was also in need of repair. It would suddenly make this loud, high-pitched noise that sounded like a kitten was dying. It was so annoying we had to unplug it. Finally, although it is advertised that each room comes with free internet access, (either wireless or through an ethernet port, depending on the room), ours came with neither. We even asked the concierge to check it out, and after 15 minutes he conceded that our room simply did not have access. Finally, the shower was an adventure in itself, with wildly fluctuating hot and cold water without notice. Don't get me wrong, the room was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast voucher at the attached Denny's saved us some money. In summary, for the price I think that the BW Inn at the Vines should invest a little money back into its facilities.

I stayed at this Best Western for a weekend in wine country with my girlfriends. Check-in was quick and we had a 2 queen room on the second floor. Room was clean and had the basic amenities. Breakfast consisted of a breakfast voucher to Denny's that was only good from 6am-9am. The jacuzzi outdoors was nice and felt nice after a long day of wine tasting.
