My girlfriend and I stayed at the Napa Inn in the "turret" room. Our stay here was pleasant enough. The room was oddly constructed. It had a very LOW entrance to the restroom that if you did not "duck" you would crack your melon. The rom had charm however with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings. It had a balcony on the highest floor which was nice. We have stayed in quite a few victorian B&B's and the Napa Inn's staff was only so so. Lisa was nice as she checked us in. Very friendly and inviting. However at breakfest neither of the hostess stopped to even really talk to anyone during breakfest. Most places I have been the staff will sit with you and or talk time to talk and get to know you a little. Not here.
There were several tenants eatting breakfest and i did not once see the staff spending any time talking to anyone. They were more concerned with speeding up out breakfest so the next group could come in and eat. The old lady ( dont know her name) in fact came out while we were still eatting and said we had to " wrap it up" the next breakfest group was coming in. We were herded like cattle out of the dining area and into the living room. I though this tactic was very unprofessional of a B&B staff. The breakfest food overall I would rate 5 or 6 out of 10. Nothing great, nothing horrible. Its not much food and we were still hungry after we left the house. Some fried potatoes, a spinage chessey mixure, and some type of cobbler. They have the usual OJ, Coffee..ect
There was nothing glaring wrong with this place. It just does not have a staff that makes you feel very welcome. They are more concerned getting people in and out. Too bad because the place itself is nice. We have learned that the best staffs are the ones that actually own the B&B and are not hired help as is the case at Napa Inn. There are several beautiful B&B's in the Napa area, I dont think we will make a return trip to the Napa Inn on out next trip to napa.

I found this B&B on the internet and booked it for my girlfriend and I to spend our first weekend away together. The rooms are laid out in two old homes, and it feels like you are staying with friends or family in a spare bedroom. The staff was excellent; very helpful and attentive, but not pushy. The breakfast they serve in the mornings is delicious, and vegetarian friendly. The location is less than 10 minutes walk from the downtown center, and we were able to enjoy the restaurants and tasting rooms on foot with the hassles of driving and parking. We stayed in Kirtley's Retreat, which was very comfortable. It was a wonderful weekend in all, and we plan to make the Napa Inn our spot to get away in the future.

Myself and my Fiance took a trip to The Napa Inn over the Valentine's Day weekend. I had been in contact with Lisa two weeks prior to our visit, let me tell you, she not only practically planned our whole trip, but they insisted it was our weekend and it sure was. The Inn itself is beautiful, we stayed in the Roman Suite. It was elegent, romantic and kept very clean. They all went out of their way to make that weekend the most romantic weekend ever!! Lots of candles!! Wine, Champagne, (a small extra charge, but worth it!) The location was awesome. We just parked our vehicle, very close to our room and walked everywhere while we were up there. It was close to everything from restaraunts, stores, bars and the great park they have downtown. The breakfasts were great! The whole trip was an adventure, it went by way too fast. Thanks again, Lisa, Brooke, Everyone!!

I had looked for over a week for a bed and breakfast in the napa area and finally decided on The Napa Inn in Napa, CA. It was very easy to find and in a very good location. Parking was very close to our room and very convenient. The women who checked us in, i believe her name was Lisa, was very nice and that is an understatement. She made us feel comfortable from the beginning and gave us great recommondations of nearby wineries. We stayed in the Roman Suite while we were there and it was an amazing room. i wanted to suprise my boyfriend with a great getaway for Valentines day and he was very happy as was I. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we had a great experience here. We will definitely be back to The Napa Inn and would recommend it to our friends and family.

The Napa Inn is a charming B & B.
We stayed in the garden cottage, which was adorable! The best part about the Napa Inn, is the breakfast!! We stayed about 4 nights, and each morning we looked fwd to the yummy homemade breakfasts. The location is great too. We had a rental car and the vineyards & restaurants were less then 15mins away. We also drove over the golden gate to San Fran for a day trip, it only took an hour. Well worth a visit!

The house and rooms have been nicely remolded and updated, though sound does still travel a bit too easily between the rooms. The fireplace in our room (The Turret Suite) was plenty to keep the room warm despite the draft you could feel if sitting near one of the old windows. The main room is not very brightly lit, but the sitting room has plenty of windows to let in the morning light if you want to sit around and read a book. You need to duck to enter the bathroom, but it opens up after you enter. However, the shower is a bit cramped, so if you like long baths or showers, choose a different room.
We stayed 3 nights and Breakfast each morning was a great spread of fresh fruits, above average granola, some kind of bread/muffin/scone, and a hot dish to fill you up. Though with only one hot dish option each morning, if you are a picky eater you might not fair so well. While the bread, granola, and fruit option were always great (the fruit was nicely ripe, even in December), the hot options varied from fine to good to great, but always filled you up.
Sherry and Port were available in the main house all the time along with cookies, cheeses, and sometimes chocolates in the evenings. While home baked in their ovens, the cookies are not made fresh every day, and the cheese spreads varied each night in quantity and quality (the cheeses were great our first night, and then had smaller selections the remaining nights, while fresh cookies were put out the second night).
There are two houses, so be aware if your room is in the main house or not. Both are great, but if you are in the Buford house you’ll need to walk across the back parking lot for breakfast or afternoon treats.

We knew that we had a winner as soon as we were welcomed at the door. The staff was attentive and welcoming with suggestions on where to dine and wineries off the beaten path. We stayed in Angelina Room which was light and airy. It had a king bed that was perfect and comfy. There was also a spa tub and large shower in the spotlessly clean bathroom. It had a private pocket garden with a porch that we enjoyed. The breakfast was served in the main Inn by candlelight, no less. The dishes served were incredible. We also loved the champagne hour in the evening where we visited with other guests as we enjoyed bubbly and appetizers. What a life!
