We have camped at various places across northern california and Oregon. We love camping, and understand there is a whole range of camp grounds. However, nothing prepared us for the conditions at Pleasure Cove campgrounds. This was our first time to this lake, and we just didn't get it. The sites are unbelievably small, and on top of each other. What we just couldn't understand is how inconsiderate people are to each other. Our parking spots were taken by others the moment we left them and we were lucky to find the owners of the cars when we returned. Not that they cared. The people who camp there are looking for the cheapest spot to drink beer for breakfast and yell at their kids all day. Oh and you must like really , really loud music played all day long. Another homey aspect is the needle drops in the bathroom - which you are lucky to have cleaned and have toilet paper.

We called the "camp host" regarding the music, and they did come out once, with no effect, so they just kept the answering machine on the rest of the night so they wouldn't have to deal.

If you have a boat and you can stay on it all day long and sleep on it-you will be fine. However camping at "pleasure cove" is a mistake for anyone who enjoys the camping experience and/or has children.

We won't be back - ever.

I stayed at pleasure cove and was very unhappy with the entire resort from its location to its employees. To start off the lake was the dirtiest lake I have ever been in but our camp site at Pleasure Cove was not even located close to the lake. It was far enough that we had to drive to a different area where we had to pay to go to the lake. The camp site was ridiculously small and the facilities and ammenities and pleasure cove were very unsatisfactory and unsanitary even for camping standards. The worst part about the whole experience were the people and rangers that worked at the site. They were the most obnoxious rude people I have ever encountered in my life. They would not let the rest of our camping party in with their cars even though they agreed to pay for parking, so they parked on the street and proceeded to walk into the camp site. However they were met by an angry man with a large mustache who said that there were not allowed in. They were paid guests who stayed at our site the previous night but because they were in their early 20s the redneck ranger said that he had the right to refuse service to anyone and although he did not have any evidence, he said that they looked like people who may cause a rucus. if that isnt age discrimination I dont know what is. He then raised his voice at the guests and continued to act like a lunatic by not even letting them go in to collect their belongings. Basically never go to this campsite if you intend to go to Lake Berryessa because the staff and the site could not be worse.
