“Used car salesman meets Wine Country”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

If you can just keep in mind that the wine is over priced for what it is (good quality jug wine) you can have a lot of fun here.

The place is very unique in its design. It has been describe by some as a Tuscan villa. The music can be over bearing at times, which makes it difficult to hear what anyone, including yourself, say. That's ok because the "Owner" likes the music blasting.

Also, don't feel ignored when you say no. Because you in fact will be ignored. I believe the Tasting Room staff is recruited from used car dealerships. Hang on to you wallets.

Their usual method in getting someone to buy their wine is to get them so drunk they make a purchase they later regret.

“Best cave tour”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

I took this cave tour in 2009. Recently I visited Napa again and took a different cave tour, and the comparison made me realize how good the Del Dotto tour is.

Our tour was very small just 5 of us, the whole time you are walking inside the caves and tasting wines from the barrel, using the wine thief. They give you a good amount of wine, and it is well worth the price.

Their wines are fantastic to top it off! They have lots of blends which are my favorites. I would love to come back to Del Dotto.

“Great caves and wines”
Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

$60 tour with Steve. Super knowledgable... Gave great insight into the barrels. Tasted many wines from barrels... Mainly cabs which was our goal. The wines were superb.... But somewhat on the high end of price range. It's a great way to learn more about wines and to sample the very good wines. Our tour lasted 2 hrs... And was worth every penny.

“Favorite tour”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

A friend recommended this tour so we made an appointment. It was our favorite tasting of two days. The cave tour with barrel tasting added a lot. Our guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable, not just about wine but also about barrels and the forests and the wine was delicious. It is expensive but worth ordering for special occasions.

“Interesting tour, Great barrel tastings”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

The winery is very unique in that they store their barrels in an old cave. They give you your tastings right out of the many barrels stored throughout the cave. It can get a little crowded in there when there are multiple tours going on but even still it was a great time. Its a little pricey but worth the experience.
