During our stay, we had breakfast each morning at Siena, the restaurant on the property. We could not have had better service. In particular, Latasha, a delightful young woman took exceptional care of our party of six. The food was fresh, and perfectly prepared each morning. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast...and ask for Latasha!

We came with the kids (6 & 1) for a quick one night of relaxation with the pool and restaurants. From the moment we checked in everyone was extremely nice. Rooms was perfect!!! Very clean with lots of amenities. The pool was nice as well with room service delivering out to us. We will definitely come again!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view.

As Shell owners we have been to quite a few properties, in fact I'm writing this review while staying at another Shell property in Whispering Woods in Oregon.
We have never been to Napa before so i had pictured the rolling green hills and rows upon rows of grapes vines. I thought I had made a wrong turn following the GPS directions when we turned into a commercial business plaza, but upon following the GPS directions found a resort named the Meritage. Driving in we saw one small sign that said Shell and focus that we had found the right property. I think you would be better off looking for the Meritage instead of the Vino Bella. They are both the same property, maybe this is part of the Wyndham takeover? Confusing for now.

Check in was easy once i figured out we were at the right place. Checked in to our one bedroom unit, which was great. Seemingly new, nicely decorated and upgraded everything. Nothing to complain about work the rooms.

Called the concierge a couple of times and even left a message but no one ever called us back. Walked to the shuttle stop to catch the shuttle to Napa but the valet said the shuttle was running late so we just drove into town... 10 minutes. I suppose the shuttle is a good option of you don't have a dd and plan on drinking. As we were toting 3 kids this was not an issue that we had to deal with so the shuttle would have been a waste of time.

Wasn't overly impressed with Napa, but i suppose they don't really cater to families with young kids. Everything was overpriced and pretentious. Just not our cup of tea. Ate dinner at Gotts restaurant in Napa. They are very pround of their mediocre food as evidenced by their prices. Advice: skip Gotts and go next door to the market that is full of little local restaurants.

We returned to Vina Bello/Meritage for a swim.Gate to the pool was locked and the card reader wouldn't let us in. Another guest opened the gate for us and said the gate had been broken for a while. Not sure why maintenance didn't put a sign on the gate. The pool ran out of towels, called the front desk and waited 30 minutes.

Just seems like the place has some growing pains...

The stay was alright, other than the room smell, the resort should tie up with other wineries for wine tasting and not limiting to only one winery - only to be told that the resort winery closed at 7pm. Disappointing ! The bowling and food were amazing and my daughter loved the game and the food. Also, there were too many doors to go thru to our room. Security was sure tight. Swimming pool was great but the door was difficult to open with the sliding room card.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool will be good enough.

This hotel is beautiful and centrally located in Napa Valley. Our studio had a king size bed, washer/dryer unit and a lovely deep tub as well as a nice kitchenette. We were given a complementary bottle of wine and bottles of water daily. We only stayed here two nights but would love to go back for a longer stay. Parking near our building (Merlot building) was pretty bad and we had to park on the street a few times. Otherwise it was a nice hotel.

There was an earlier review posted titled 'Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.' I would concur with this statement. They really need to get it together and hire a decent Operations Manager to get the housekeeping staff in line. Also, parking is a joke. There are not nearly enough spaces for the units and you end up having to park in the street. One night we had to walk about 3 blocks to our unit.

We happened to be in Napa during a bad heat wave and found that while the living room and kitchen were cool, the bedroom did not have enough air flow from the system to cool it off. We were pretty miserable the entire time.

Room Tip: Upper floor away from the pool would help if you want to sleep!

As a Shell vacation owner, you expect that you'd be treated as least as well as those who booked using a Groupon or some other discounted voucher. Here's what happened:
My husband booked our rooms in early April. We requested a two bedroom pool view to bring our two adult daughters and their families. We were told we needed to book a studio and a one bedroom. (My husband suspected it was a ploy to use more of our timeshare points, as a two bedroom was less)
He was in contact with them at least three other times times to confirm. The day before, we were told we would have a two bedroom that was connected and early chek in. We assumed it would be the standard one bedroom and the lock- off unit across the hall. We arrived at 1:30, not expecting the room to be ready, thinking we'd have lunch. Our rooms were not ready, as expected, but were to be assigned a room over-looking the roof of the timeshare building and the parking lot- they called this a Garden View. I asked how we could get a pool view and was told they were 90 % full and that was all that was available. They could give us a better location- two separate rooms over looking the maintainence parking lot. I pressed him and got him to admit that if we booked with a discount voucher, we could get a pool view if available and that there was no preference for "owners" unless we paid extra beforehand (there' s nothing on the Shell site about this, evidently it is a Wyndham policy) Finally moved the second day to two rooms at opposite ends of building. overlooking the pool-was told they would be two doors away the day before.

While having lunch at the pool cafe, the server asked for our credit card immediately, was very inept. did not give us the itemized bill, only the credit card receipt. After he disappeared for several minutes( we were told by another server that he was sick- great!) I went up to the bar and asked for an itemized receipt. Guess what, the tip was already incuded in the total, which I wouldn't have known if I hadn't asked for an itemized bill.
Lots more to mention:

Weirdo harrasing young children- had to help young preteen girl find her parents after he repeatedly asked her to take a walk with him. Parents reported incident

BBQ grills broken with missing grates (on 4th of July,- Really?)

Although the Vino Bello is a quick drive from the Bay Area, we won't make another trip.
