“Lovely cottages, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2014

Very clean cottages(trailers), park like setting, conveniently located. Nice staff, overall a great place to stay with so much to do. I wouldn't stay in the cottages all day, not what meant for, but great place to use as a clean, pleasant, safe place to stay when traveling to the wineries and SF

Pictures on website do not do justice to this resort. We loved everything about the accommodations and service. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Napa! They should post better pictures of grounds and rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Napa River are very nice!

I reviewed one of the recent reviews which lambasted the resort and the timeshare presentation and was very surprised. My wife and I own here--having obtained this timeshare primarily for it's entry into Interval International, but we've stayed here a few times and have enjoyed our stays. Granted, the cottages are glorified mobile homes, but they're very nicely appointed and the grounds are very attractive. You can't beat the proximity to downtown Napa. The staff has always been very friendly and the presentations we've attended have all been very informational and with zero pressure to buy more time. We have a second timeshare at Ka'anapali Beach in Maui, which is of course nicer, but you get what you pay for. Riverpoint is quite a bargain, and we've traded our time there for amazing resorts around the world, always getting more than we've given up in return.

We've probably stayed in 75% of the hotels in the Napa area - not one of them offered a one-night stay in August. Stumbled on this place and it's a perfect solution if you need a place to crash for one night.

They're little trailer-like cottages with a kitchenette and little porches. Has a campground feel, so be prepared to be close to your neighbors (who we never saw). Check-in staff super nice. Place was clean if not a little cramped. Loved the overall feel.

Location is a few miles from downtown, but close to some of the wineries over by Hagen Rd.

I'd book it again.

My wife, daughter and I traded into a one bedroom (with pull-out sleeper) "cottage," at RiverPointe Napa Valley Resort the week of August 17, 2014. As many have noted, these are comfortable, fairly well equipped trailers located next to the Napa River, Napa, CA. I traded a one bedroom unit and feel like I got a good trade since we were planning to spend most of our days touring the area (generally two wineries per day, except for one day where we just went to one). Our daughter (college student) was along for the ride and while the sofa bed was not the greatest, she was fine with the free accommodations! Check-in was easy; staff steered guests to a man who provided a "parking pass," and made a low-key pitch to try and entice you to come to a presentation regarding saving money on vacations...we passed. He drew a map with some suggested restaurants, areas on it and I thought it would be a lot easier and a little more professional if RiverPointe had their own little printed map with those places on it. Throughout the week, the staff kept the property clean, replaced towels and did two mini-services that kept the "cottage" clean. Note that there is no stove (only a range top--4 gas burners), microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc. and some nice wine glasses. Really everything you need for this type of vacation and there are gas grills scattered around the property. As many have also noted, there is a very clean/safe walking trail (1.2 miles) directly along the river and we took early morning and evening walks most days.

We did not go to any of the on-site events (orientation breakfast/wine tasting) as we had booked wineries prior to coming out. If you are planning a trip to the area, I strongly encourage you to seek out wineries that require reservations--all of the ones we visited were small-medium production family owned businesses and required such reservations. The most crowded tour we had was a total of 7 people--we had a great experience at Robert Biale (Zinfandel), Silverado (Cabernet/others), Chappellet (mountain top vineyard), Rombauer (Zinfandel/Cabernet), Mumm (Sparkling), Nickel & Nickel (Cabernet/other) and Hess (Cabernet/other).

Our one winery/day trip to us about 1.5 hours from the Resort to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, 17000 Armstrong Woods Rd, Guerneville, CA 95446 (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=450). What a beautiful park...easy access (free to walk into from the parking lot or $8/car) and within a half-mile easy hike you can be standing in front of 330 foot Redwoods that are over a 1,000 years old.

Couple of food recommendations: (1) High-end ($50/person) would be Bottega Napa (http://www.botteganapavalley.com), outstanding food and wine; (2) Cheap/but good include the Bounty Hunter (Happy hour 2/1 specials from 3-6 pm on beer and good wines and a great $10 barbecue sampler that would suffice as a meal for most people, but not all!) which is located at 975 First Street Napa, CA 94559, telephone 707.226.3976(http://www.bountyhunterwinebar.com). (3) Cheap/but good for lunch--The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), "Lilly Cafe," (http://www.ciarestaurantgroup.com/the-bakery-cafe-by-illy/) which is located up by St. Helena. $10 lunches, $2-$4 deserts...great place to check out.

Room Tip: Try to stay off the very front of the property...kind of noisy out there. The rest of the units are...

Just got back from 3 night at Riverpointe.

Pros: Very clean, spacious living room, fully functioning kitchen, nice appliances, quiet, A/C

Cons: We were under the assumption these were cabins they are trailer homes, no privacy on your deck as it is shared with neighbor (awkward) the pool is way too small for so many trailers, do not get king bed you will not be able to move in your room!!! the 4 days that we were there never once does house keeping come in, we were told only if you rent for a week?? We had to take our trash out everyday and nobody instructs you where to put it. Every now and then a strong smell of pooh would come through the shower drain?? But the overpowering air freshener which smelled like bug repellent somewhat took it away.

Over all it was ok. Would I stay there again.....no thanks

When I booked a "one bedroom" I had no idea I was getting a little trailer in a quiet community of similar units. We were thrilled and loved it! The unit was spotless and very comfortable, extremely well furnished and stocked with dishes and, you guessed it, wine glasses. The air conditioning was efficient and the staff were great. Complimentary wine tastings on Sunday and Monday evenings and complimentary breakfast and orientation on Monday mornings. We weren't sure we wanted to "waste" the time going to breakfast, but we loved the food, the presentation was helpful, and we were out of there in under an hour. Highly recommended!
