We visited Napa this winter for a weekend getaway and stayed at the Meritage. I'd give them many points for a high level of service. The entire staff was welcoming and accommodating. In addition there are lots of small touches that in and of themseselve seem small but which add up to a great experience (e.g. a bag of fresh popcorn when you checkout a dvd from the library).
A few other nice things:
- A bowling alley on site with drinks!
- Bocce court outside
- Walking path through the on site vineyard
- On-site tasting room
- A very good restaurant on-site (Sienna)
The only downside that we experienced was that the area surrounding the hotel was somewhat commercial. When you're on the property you feel like you're in a vineyard ... but when you hike to the top of the vineyard you'll see commercial buildings around the area. You'll also drive through this area on your way in. It doesn't feel like driving through fields of vines ... but once you're inside the property it's quite lovely.More
