Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here. There were highlights here and there, but overall our experience was less than satisfactory.
As for the good parts - the rooms are decent and well taken care of. The resort offers a shuttle service to and from downtown Napa at regular intervals in the evenings which comes in handy. The pool area is nice, and we had a decent visit to the spa.
If it weren't for the horrific service at both restaurants/bars, the "wool over the eyes" techniques used by resort management in attempts to sell time shares through bribes of discounts to the spa, or the blatant begging of tips by the valets and others, the visit would've been far more enjoyable.
I should have known something was amiss when we got a discount for using a Visa or MC to pay for the visit. Nothing is classy about bribing your guests with payment methods.
Our advice - spend an extra few dollars per night to stay somewhere smaller. The Meritage is too big for these folks to handle.More
