“Perfect from start to finish - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out our stay at this property was perfect.

The grounds, lobby, pool, cave, rooms, night club/bowling alley, fire pits, lounge areas, coffee shop..everything was just lovely.

Our room was in building 4 facing the vineyard. Gorgeous bedding, views, bathrooms, patio. The bed was comfy the shower was roomy and the bedtime chocolates delicious.

We spent three nights here and on the last day I was sad we had to leave. We will be back and will be staying here again.

Side note - Paoletti vineyard is the best place we visited. It is Napa's best kept hidden secret.

This hotel experience includes so much that I don't even know where to start. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfy! We spent the entire day at the pool and it was a blast. The only downside is that there are not many chairs so you must get there early and save seats. There is also only one pool server, so drinks and food take a little while when ordered. He did his best though and served us with a smile non stop! Late at night there is a club called Crush which is also very fun! Crush is open late, has shuffleboard tables and bowling lanes, plus the bar and food! All in all, a wonderful hotel experience!

Room Tip: The suites are very nice, as they include a kitchen with all the necessary items. There is also a la...

Thanks for being a guest of The Meritage Resort and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're so happy to hear that you were able to take full advantage of our many amenities and that your stay was a pleasurable one. Whether you're relaxing in the day or enjoying the nightlife of Crush Ultra Lounge, there's a little something for everyone here. I'll be certain to pass your concerns along regarding slower that expected service while at the pool, as this is not generally the case, and we aim for streamlined efficiency in all our operations. We hope that you'll reach out again soon; we'd love to host your next getaway!

The Meritage has a beautiful atmosphere and fun options that don't require you to leave the property. Beautiful rooms and fantastic pool. Perfect for a girls getaway or a weekend away with your husband. We enjoyed the local wineries and were very impressed with all it had to offer. I look forward to staying again.

Ok I supposed Napa is for adults , but we incorporated this hotel on a road trip through Northern California . There is nothing wrong with the hotel, we travelled with two ten year olds and it was not really a suitable choice for kids. The rooms were very good , but it was very ' dressy' and had a very corporate feel. It was not relaxed in any way. If you go take suitable formal clothing, women in cocktails dresses and men in suits and ties. On one evening woman were in ball gowns and men in tuxedos but i believe a function was on in one of the ' wine caves ' . We didn't feel we able to do any 'wine tasting' as we had children, Unlike France and Canada when we have visited wineries there. There was definitely a snobbish attitude. Kids weren't allowed to use pool in hotel as it was adult only but we were able to use the one next door which was good. We ended up using room service as we only had smart but casual attire.there is a coffee bar for breakfast it was fine for muffins/ pastries etc as well as the restaurent . There is also a sports bar we used for lunch which has a bowling alley but again the kids were unable to use this after 7.30 pm as its adults only. Don't take kids here, its really not for them but do go if you want a couple weekend. It's an interesting place to go if you like people watching.

I highly recommend this beautiful resort for any occasion! Friendly staff, beautiful grounds and a lovely pool to soak up the afternoon sun sipping wine. Continue the evening having a cocktail in the nice lounge and enjoying a dinner at the yummy restaurant Crush. We will definitely be back soon!

My girlfriends and I just stayed here for little weekend get away. We were very well taken care of! One of my friends ended up with the flu, and the staff brought her peppermint tea and pretzels to her room. Talk about service. There was so much fun stuff to do that we didn't have to leave the hotel. The pool was fun and after hours at the bowling alley with the DJ was a blast! The rooms were amazing too! Absolutely returning!

We booked this hotel largely because we were looking last minute and because it had one of the best dog friendly policies and decent trip advisor reviews. This is one of few hotels that will actually let you leave your dog in a crate in the room while you are not there - this is critical if you actually want to eat at a nice restaurant that doesn't allow dogs. The pet fee is only $50 per pet per stay, which is also a lot less than many other hotels in the area. That was the best thing about this hotel in my opinion.

This hotel is extremely overpriced otherwise - it must be because it caters to so many weddings. There seemed to be 4 or 5 weddings there while we were there for the weekend. The hotel property and public areas are very nice, modern, clean. Our room, however, was small (much smaller than it what it appeared to be in the hotel pictures) and the air conditioning door was extremely dusty. The bathroom was clean and modern. The room was extremely hot when we first arrived and we had to crank up the A/C - it took a long time to cool down the room. We were extremely cramped in a room with 2 queen beds with 4 people. We felt like we were on top of each other. The beds were very uncomfortable - extremely firm. The pillows were too soft/lacked filling. The pool was also very small - I agree with another reviewer that said there isn't enough seating/space to lay out if the pool were to actually be busy.

As far as location goes, it is convenient to downtown Napa and there is a shuttle there - but it stops running at about 10:30 which is too early to finish dinner if you have a later reservation. The office park location didn't bother us. Saying this hotel is like Vegas in Napa is a disservice to most Vegas hotels - many of which are beautifully maintained with large, clean spacious rooms (whether you like large touristy hotels or not). If you are looking for a quaint Napa bed and breakfast, then obviously this is not the hotel for you. I actually prefer clean, modern hotel rooms which made this even more of a disappointment.

We felt like this room was not worth nearly what we paid for it - having stayed there once I would not return. Perhaps we had an older room, not sure. I would never (again) pay more than $200/night for this hotel and that's adding a huge bump in price for a weekend rate in Napa - I've stayed in Hampton Inns and equivalent mid price hotels that were much more comfortable for the price.

One other thing that really irritated me - I didn't realize when I checked in but they made me sign something saying I was authorizing them to contact me with marketing pitches! Unbelievable! The concierge also tried to sign up a member of my group for a time share pitch for the next door time share. That's terrible at a supposed "4 star" property.

Room Tip: Avoid room 214 - dusty and hot.
