I was at the Meritage for a week on business. My husband joined me late in the week. This is a very nice hotel. The doors in the guest rooms were a litlle odd. There were many doors and they all seemed to swing in the wrong direction. The room was quiet and comfortable though. The pool has amazing views of the vinyard. A free bottle of wine, free bottled water and free internet were all very nice amenities. The hotel is south of everything and in a business park setting. The hotel staff is very accomodating. Being in Napa, Ca, there is very little to complain about.

This hotel is gorgeous outside and in. Tucked away behind a business park, it has a gourmet restaurant, sumptuous spa, wine tasting room/store, and beautifully furnished rooms and suites. It is so well located to enjoy Napa and the surrounding vineyards and attractions of the Napa Valley. Truly one of the best places I've ever stayed in Napa and I would return anytime! The concierge team is also extremely accommodating and makes superb recommendations for places to visit and dine.

Maybe you can have better luck....

Her recommendation was:

Wonderful! The staff welcomed us with smiles. The room was beautiful and had everything we could possibly need in it. The restaurant was great. The complimentary Shuttle Bus to and from Napa and the hotel, was such a good idea. We used it several times.

Great hotel! Great experience!

A group of girlfriends and I decided to head to Napa for a weekend of wine tasting and found that the majority of hotels in Napa were fully booked or insanely expensive on the days we were going to be there. We finally settled on the Meritage Resort and Spa, as it looked very nice and wasn't going to break the bank.

I have to say that the setting of the hotel was not exactly what I expected. It is located in a quasi-industrial area just off the highway and is a fair distance from downtown Napa. However, the hotel does offer a free shuttle to take to you and from Napa (until about 10 pm). The hotel itself is very nice, and rooms were spacious and modern, with comfortable beds. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. Additionally, they offer complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby, which is nice if you need a little pick me up throughout the day,

There is a lounge and a restaurant on site. The restaurant served a very good breakfast and dinner, however they seemed very short staffed every day we were there. Our breakfast took over an hour to get two days in a row and the people at the table next to us (who arrived before us) never even received their food at all. The staff were very nice and were extremely apologetic about the wait, even reducing our bill by 50%, which we appreciated.

One thing I took issue with was having to pay the hotel's mandatory' resort fee'. This hotel hardly qualifies as a resort in my opinion. The pool, while nice, is nothing special and there were few other amenities to warrant this charge. That being said, there is spa and a wine cave that does tastings on site. There is also a trail behind the hotel that winds through a vineyard and looked as though it would be a lovely walk, however it was closed the entire time we were there, which was disappointing. C'est la vie!

The hotel seems to host quite a few conferences, and I think it would be a great venue to hold meetings.Staff was very friendly and helpful, and our fellow hotel guests were lovely as well. All in all, the Meritage was a nice hotel and made for a mostly enjoyable place to spend a girls' weekend.

Really more of a place for meetings than getaways. It was nice but would rather have paid more and gotten my money's worth. Pool and hot tub were nice but no different than an average hotel. We are not spa users. Wine tasting room not really a big deal that it is in a cave (a "fake" cave--for a real cave tasting experience go to Deerfield Family Ranch in Sonoma). Room smelled moldy. No real upscale amenitites--had to call to get a shower cap. Restaurant was very good for dinner and VERY understaffed for the Sunday brunch. Liked the dinner better than Cuvee in town. Front desk staff was nice and accomodating. Free coffee and water was nice in the morning but we get that on business trips with pretty much any hotel now. Setting is pretty even though the complex is in a business park. Major plus is that it is really close if you are driving from the Sacramento area and easy access to wineries. If had to do it over again would be just as happy at Embassy Suites in downtown Napa.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel while on vacation over labor day in 2010. They used their travel reward points too book 2 rooms that were adjoined where one had a kitchen. I really enjoyed this as we had a living room to relax in and watch TV. Also we had an ample sized kitchen where we made quick bites to eat. There was plenty of space in both rooms. The hotel has a spa but we did not have time for it. Very gorgeous scennery around this hotel and well decorated. The pool was really nice to get into because it is hot in Napa during Labor day. The nice SF weather does not stretch that far. But at night it got cool and we went to the hottub which was nice as well. Overall a good place to stay at the start of Napa a bit off the highway.

We stayed here for 1 night on a recent drive down the West Coast. This is a nice hotel that is clean and feels new. It is decorated in a rustic Mediterranean feel. Our room was huge with a large bed and included a complimentary bottle of wine. There was a lovely pool area with a firepit (but the fire was out before 10pm, kind of a bummer). The people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little bit out of the main Napa town area, so there isn't a ton in the area for a leisure/vacation traveler. However, this does seem like a really good hotel to hold a conference at. I'm not sure I'd come here as a "destination" though.

Thank you for reviewing us! We appreciate the time you took to comment and provide us with feedback. We apologize that the hotel did not live up to your expectations of the Napa destination. Our tasting room and vineyard our hopefully the best way for us to convey that atmosphere. We hope that you'll give us another try, and look forward to seeing you soon!
