There is a plethora of fine dining choices in Napa Valley, and brunch is no exception. But don't miss this one. Torc is a rising star and we have enjoyed exceptional dinners on several occasions. I am not a big brunch fan but this Sunday changed my mind. Our server Tifanny was great, knowledgable on the menu and paced the meal nicely. We started with a glass of champagne and then leisurely moved on to a round of deviled eggs, cured steelhead, and the kampachi crudo. Both fish choices were super fresh and the preparations quite simple but they knocked us out. The camachi was the shining star, with the chilies adding the perfect kick. So good, we ordered a second plate. Too many Interesting choices left, so we chose four more dishes for the three of us... wild mushroom benedict, huckleberry hotcakes, chicken hash, and croque madame. The
hash was amazing, one of the best brunch offerings I have ever had. Every ingredient shined through but collectively they were a delight. Our guest said the croque was his best ever, eclipsing it's counterpart at Bouchon. We enjoyed every plate, but still kept thinking about the fish. So one more each of the steelhead and kampachi and we had to surrender. An awesome wine list made it easy to find a gem to compliment the savory dishes we enjoyed.
Worth the visit, can't wait to go back!
