“Outstanding Chard and Cab”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

Fell in love with this place in 2002 and have been going back every time I am in Napa. I take friends and family whenever I can get them to come from the east coast. Friendly staff, great wine club ( a requirement because the small production volumes make the wines hard to find on the east coast), small private events and now an annual Harvest Party! If you are stopping to see the Disney's Silverado, Stags Leap, and Pine Ridge, you are close to Vine Cliff. The Proprietress Reserve Chard is only bottled in the best years, get a taste if you can. I am a red wine guy, but this is the chardonnay that made me put some white in storage. When I take Vine Cliff wines out for special occasions, everybody wants seconds and thirds (so get more than one bottle or don't share!). ...and then there are the caves...get a tour if you can and hear how they came to be decorated.

“Hidden Gem - Vine Cliff Winery on Silverado Trail”
Reviewed July 13, 2005

I just got back from a long weekend in Napa. My wife and I visited over 10 wineries and the star of the show was Vine Cliff Winery on the Silverado Trail. The winery is a real gem as it is not packed with hordes of tourists. They have a stunning setting on the hills overlooking Napa Valley. They have beautiful gardens you can stroll through. Most impressive is their wine caves carved into the mountain. The tasting room is rustic and the staff is quite friendly and informed. Probably the best value for money wines that we found in Napa. We will certainly go back with friends.
