Do not bother to stop here to eat. Mediocre Mexican food. We ordered queso with our chips and the cheese looked and tasted like nacho cheese you get at a ballpark. The Margaritas were bad as well.

Stopped in to the Red Hen Cantina at 2pm on a January Tuesday. Post-lunch so no crowd. Ordered the special of the day... "BBQ Jalapeno Chicken Quesadilla" $7.95. It was fabulous!!

I drive past the Red Hen several times a year and this is the first time I've stopped in. The warm tortilla chips and tasty salsa were delicious, my Quesadilla special was really, really good. The jalapeno sauce was spunky and the carmelized onions sweet and a great addition.

The service was okay -- sort of laid back, but pleasant, which I attribute to the 2pm time frame.

I'd give a thumbs-up to the Red Hen. A reasonably-priced restaurant in overly-priced Napa territory. Next time I hope it's a nice day and I can sit on their outdoor patio. :)

The complimentary nachos and salsa was the best part of the whole lunch experience. Decor is dusty kitschy cal-mex, service is average. Tacos plain, ultimate burrito not bad at all, bussing slow and the high ceiling made for tons of echoing from the screaming toddler at the next table.
Overall, average to say the least.

Just average, we had tacos, steak and fish. Steak was bland, fish tasted old. The atmosphere was fun and the service was decent. Here on vacation and drove by a bunch so decided to go in. It's average, won't win any awards but won't kill you either

Are you just driving into Napa, are hungry, and mexican sounds appealing? Keep driving. This place is avg to below avg food quality, a whacky color scheme inside with little ambience, and something is just a bit off with the staff. You can do better. Margaritas are decent but i ask myself why i was drinking those in wine country? Maybe theres something wrong with me?
