Took a fabulous trip to Napa and ventured across the Stag's Leap vineyard. Tasting was fabulous, along with lots of great info on the wines. Joined the wine club and have been enjoying 3 bottles every quarter - highly recommend a visit to the vineyard

For Wine Lovers, this is a must go to place. Just learning about their history and the chance to see where red wine from California earned its international reputation makes this a wonderful place to visit. Make sure you join the wine club!

This winery and how they treat customers is becoming the norm in Napa (unfortunately). The wine is obviously very good and we were excited about our appointment there. However, they were ushering people in and out just as quickly as they possibly could and simply focussing on making money from tastings.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the trend with some wineries in Napa. They have chosen to make "tastings" their profit center, and concern themselves less with education and building new customers.

There are still many boutique wineries throughout the valley where we were able to sit with the winemaker and his/her family and talk wine. Most of these had no cost associated with them (though we always ended up buying a case or two to send back).

I'll stick to the wineries still operating like in years past and the masses can continue to flood the Stags Leap Wine Cellar type places and buy tastings instead of wine for consumption back home.

I was told it is apparently easy to get Stag's Leap and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars confused. However, our visit to Stags Leap Wine Cellars was amazing. I'm a big fan of the Stags Leap District; great wines and the employees were very laid back and approachable. No appointment or cover required, which is also nice. Highly recommend.
