We live in the Napa Valley and have for various reasons never dined at La Toque. Our first consideration, being local, was to call the restaurant and ask simply for their corkage fees or requirements. We choose our wines carefully and often prefer to take a special bottle for dinner.
After two calls and left messages we abandoned the thought of dining there. The restaurant never called back. We never spoke to a real person. Apparently, their only preferred form of communication are on-line reservations, e-mails, or phone message tag.
There are many great restaurants in the valley that go out of their way to personalize their service and are more than willing to take the time to answer even the most basic dining questions.
