Description: La Toque at The Westin Verasa Napa is a showcase for Chef Frank’s modern French cuisine and his passion for fine wine. This “French chef in a California body,” as he likes to call himself, has pushed his cuisine in a more harmonious wine friendly direction and the restaurant has become well known for its savvy wine pairings. Fueled by a passion for excellence, his signature restaurant, La Toque, has been bestowed with a prestigious Michelin Star as well as the Wine Spectator's Grand Wine List Award. From Chef- A commitment to the finest ingredients inspires everything we do. Our menus evolve constantly, showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients as they become available. We are fortunate to be part of a vibrant local food community with a network of dedicated farmers and purveyors that produce the exceptionally delicious foods we present to you. The Core Menu features a collection of seasonal La Toque Classic dishes. With this menu, you chart your own dining experience, choosing either three or four small plates and a dessert. The Chef’s Table Tasting Menu and Vegetable Menu are both presented as an extensive progression of flavors and textures and should be served to the entire table. Pairing wine and food is our passion. Our culinary team and Sommeliers taste together daily, constantly exploring, looking for those pairings that elevate both the food and wine, creating harmony. The wine pairings offer a unique opportunity to enjoy a wide range of styles and flavors. Ken Frank – Chef Proprietor

My wife and I dined at La Toque during our stay at the Westin Verasa Napa and enjoyed our dining experience. We both choose the three-course food and wine pairing and loved each. Each wine was thoughtfully chosen by the wine director and greatly enhanced each course. While the food, ambience, and customer service were exemplary, admittedly, the cost of the dining experience is exorbitant (almost $400, including tip). Moreover, some of the wine pours could have been a bit more generous (perhaps an additional ounce with each glass) to further compliment and enhance each food course. For further trips to Napa Valley, I think we would be better served and receive greater "value" ordering room service (or dining at "The Bank Cafe and Bar" located next to La Toque) and purchasing a bottle of wine from one of the nearby wineries to pair with our meal.

I was skeptical about a restaurant attached to a hotel---I was wrong-It was SUPERB---the choices on the menu were plentiful and we felt like we were creating our own tasting menus--the food was truly top notch---the wine choices were terrific as well-the hospitality warm, knowledgeable and attentive-knowing when to be there and when not to be there---one of the best meal experiences I have ever had...

We told Daniel Frank (waiter and son of the Chef) last time we were here 3 months ago that it was going to be our wedding anniversary and he can select the menu. He checked his records of what we normally eat. My wife and I had different dishes for each course and we had never ordered any course previously!! It was superb. One of the best dinners we have ever had (we like fine dining) anywhere in the world and definitely better than anything else in Napa (French Laundry?). Zoe the sommelier paired the wines (for instance my wife and I had for example different Pinot's to suite the flavor of the course) again this was excellent. I don't trust many sommeliers but Zoe is excellent. Probably was $$$$ but it was cheap for the quality and service. Easily a Michelin ** compared to others I have visited.

We recently dined at La Toque because we had read so many rave reviews about this restaurant. I’m not sure if there are two La Toques in Napa but we did not dine at the one people seem to love. We walked into the restaurant to find a very bland, non-descript, undistinguishable interior. This is how we felt about our whole experience- décor, food, and service. The wait staff was not knowledgeable about the menu; we frequently had to ask more than one member to either explain a drink or a dish or someone had to go ask the question for us. Service was very uneven. Sometimes dishes came out quickly, sometimes we had to wait quite a while. On the menu the dishes sounded delicious when, in actuality, some dishes were overcooked, some undercooked, some way too salty, some unseasoned. I wonder if the chef is in the kitchen each night, supervising dishes before they reach the table. Not one dish we ate was memorable. The restaurant is not inexpensive and, for the price, there are far better choices in this area.

WOW! The website does not do justice to this restaurant. It had the most extensive wine list i have ever seen. He brought it to us on an Ipad. It was so overwhelming, i handed it back and asked for a suggestion. He offered the chef's special.... A seven course food and wine pairing. Our waiter described in detail each food, where in the WORLD it was from, and the wine with which it was paired. Without asking the price (fixe), we closed our menus and accepted his suggestion. As each course was served, the sommelier poured the accompanying wine and described its region as well as its tasting notes that made it pair well with the food selection. We had truffles, caviar, and many other exotic bites. Every bite and sip was spectacular. It was the most expensive meal I have ever eaten but it was a once in a lifetime event we will always remember.
