Just got back from our first visit to Brix, which was highly recommended by several friends. The gardens were beautiful although we decided to stay inside since the temps dropped so quickly. Started with the meatballs, which were dense and flavorful. Two of us had the cheeseburgers, one had the mushroom ravioli and a fourth had a specialty pizza. All of our entrees were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty with fresh local ingredients. We brought our own wine, but they also had an extensive wine wine list with most bottles only being marked up to double their retail price. The only complaint we all had was that the service was terrible and extremely slow on a Monday evening where the restaurant was only about half full. Our server didn't seem to care much about his job and disappeared for long stretches of time. Maybe there is a different wait staff on Mondays, and the service didn't ruin the meal or anything, but it was unusual to have such bad service In a place where great attention has been given to the preparation and presentation of the food.

We recently celebrated our 35th anniversary at Brix in the Napa valley. We arrived early for our reservation and took in their beautiful gardens while waiting for our table.Brix' chef could be seen gathering fresh herbs and organic vegetable's for the evenings dinner selections. We took advantage of the outdoor seating in the gardens and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings after our stroll though them. Our hostess came out and showed us to our table and we were greeted by our waiter,Jorge. We had brought a bottle of Andretti reserve cabernet with us for our dinner, he had the bottle opened and decanted for us. When he returned with our wine, He went over the evenings special offerings .We each started out with a mixed drink from the bar(Oakville grade), a very refreshing blend of Ketel one vodka, St.Germaine liqueur and agave nectar.Just the thing for a warm afternoon in the valley. Our meal started with our server bringing us fresh baguettes and whipped garlic infused butter. Next, we each had a salad. My wife had the butter lettuce salad and I the baby mixed greens salad, both were excellent. For our main we each had the Mesquite grilled prime beef Ribeye, served with chanterelle mushrooms, wild arugula and marbled potatoes. Superbly prepared and presented ,the beef was melt in your mouth and paired well with the Andretti cabernet. For dessert we shared the Salted caramel ice cream sandwiches(recommended by our waiter),it was amazing!! Our experience at Brix offered great service, setting, full bar,an extensive wine list and excellently prepared menu offerings. We will definitely be returning to Brix in the Napa valley.

This was the last restaurant of our trip and I think it was the best. Our server,Toni, didn't push us and was wonderful. We had brought a nice bottle of wine that we wanted to really enjoy so at several points she said no rush. We had several courses and the food was spectacular. Highly recommended.

Certainly not my favorite spot in the valley, but a decent stop on the dining journey. The service was spotty and the food was either really good or not good at all. I had a sandwich with tomatoes and burrata which was really not very good at all. Other's had a pizza and burger as well as a salmon dish. They were all decent, but again, there are better places to select where everything is outstanding instead of hoping to outpace mediocre food choices at Brix.
