Our cottage was wonderful. Loved the private patio, outdoor shower, bathroom. Onsite food also exceptional. Perfect place to hang, or as a base to explore the wine country. Pool area has a spectacular view.

Spectacular is the only way to describe the Carneros Inn in Napa. It's a private, sprawling compound that has impeccable service and a near constant state of luxury. The private cottages are stylish and cozy with real burning fireplaces. The restaurants range from the convenient and affordable "Market" where you can get fresh, quick to go items to the very high end Farm restaurant that rivals any top dining in any city. There are two pools, one for adults, and the adult pool has an incredible view of the Napa valley. Can't say enough good things about this property. It's very special and one of a kind.

I loved this hotel! Our cottage was adorable...the resort is really something special! It is a little far away from things in Yountville, but we got a driver for the weekend through Napa Valley tours so everything worked out okay. I emailed the concierge about a week before our stay and she arranged wine tours for us and lunches. Everything was taken care of without much hassle. We had an amazing meal at French Laundry and an okay one at Morimoto (nothing special). The hotel is expensive, but worth it...

We stayed in an amazing room overlooking the vineyard. We had an outdoor shower that had a window that overlooked the vinyard as well. So fun! Carneros has great wine but it was so nice staying there because one day we did Sonoma and the next day we did Napa. Carneros is right in the middle so it was great! Splurge on the vineyard view or you will be sad you didn't!

Room Tip: Splurge on the vineyard view!

We stayed here during an ill-fated "skiing" holiday when, due to an absence of snow, we diverted to Napa for a few days. We escaped here looking for some relaxing down-time by a pool in an upscale hotel and weren't disappointed.

The resort was everything you would expect - clean, modern with staff everywhere. It is laid out like a small village with a premium set on privacy so you don't overlook another room's, ahem, private areas. This does mean a bit of a walk to get up to breakfast etc, but it's not exactly a long way. Other than the breakfast (which was great), we didn't use the either of the restaurants, preferring to stay in our garden by the fire-pit with some take-away and a bottle of wine, but it made for a fantastic evening. The outdoor bath is a nice touch.

Nice and relaxing by the pool, with attentive service and - critically - no screaming children..!!!

It was lovely and I'd go back in principle - but am conscious there are probably other places to explore in the area, so would probably try somewhere else as, after a couple of days, I think we'd exhausted it...

Room Tip: Worth the upgrade for a room with a private garden, fire-pit and outdoor bath!

My husbands company had a weekend getaway at the Carneros Inn last weekend. This place is phenomenal. The grounds look like a little town. The rooms are little individual cottages with their own backyards. Our room was very bright, with a fireplace and heated bathroom floors. The decor was perfect, very Napa Valley w/a hint of modern touches. The backyard was a dream...it had an outdoor soaking tub, rain shower that had access to the indoor shower. There was a fire pit and a lounge area with heaters. It is exactly how I would design my own backyard...(just on a smaller scale). The service at the reception was outstanding.

The location of the Inn was great. We rode bikes to a few wineries nearby. The inn provides bikes that you can take out for 3 hours, however, they are first come first serve. We didn't want to risk the bikes not being available and we wanted to keep them longer than 3hrs, so we rented bikes from Good Time Bike Rentals. We had a great time, however, I would warn people that the bike ride is tough...depending on the direction you go, you will be on the busy highway for a little bit, which was scary. Also, my husband and I are in great shape, and the bike ride was pretty tough for us...so if you are hesitant at all, I would just hire a car.

We spent our last day at the spa, which was just ok. The spa is pretty small, but clean and has the essentials. Again, we weren't paying, so its hard to say if it was worth the price...

Overall our stay was fantastic, especially since we didn't have to pay for anything.
