Stayed in Carneros Inn for 2 nights - not impressed at all. Staff was rather mechanic instead of friendly. Check-inn only 4PM so please beware the rooms are not ready! There were many other guest waiting for their rooms at noon time. In-room dining over-priced for the location. Decoration of the rooms and private atmosphere a big plus!

We stayed at the Carneros Inn during a recent trip to Napa and my wife and I absolutely loved it. We stayed in a king garden cottage and they are unlike any room at any place else I've stayed in recent memory. Very upscale, charming, and cozy with an oversized bathroom and shower (that also connects to an outdoor shower). The bed is very comfortable and there's a desk, a comfortable love seat/couch and tables in front of a cozy, real fireplace in the room. In addition, you have your own cozy, private garden with a table and chairs and two lounge chairs that sit under a heater so you can lay back at night and watch the stars or layout during the day and enjoy the sun. What's more unlike most high end hotels that charge you $20 for a bottle of water from the honor bar, everything in the room at Carneros is free including water, soda, high end toiletries and fresh fruit. Speaking of fresh fruit the apple trees on the property were in bloom while we were there so we feasted on hand picked, fresh apples during our stay, delicious (especially the green ones). The pool area is also unique and relaxing and there are fireplaces with cozy chairs all around the property as well as some chairs that overlook beautiful, sweeping views of the valley. We didn't use the spa, so I cannot comment on it, but we ate at both restaurants and the food was very good. Overall we absolutely loved the property, the service, and the experience and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We loved our king garden room. I'm not sure there's a bad room on the property. If there is...

We stayed at the carneris inn on our honeymoon in August 2012. The resort is lovely, each of the rooms is a little cottage finished to an exceptionally high standard. Check in is at the hilltop area and you are offered a glass of wine/water on arrival. Our cottage had a very comfortable, large bed, fireplace, minibar with complementary coke products, bathtub, separate shower and secluded outdoor shower. We had a little garden area with sun loungers/table. The service was excellent, room service is delivered anywhere on property and poolside service too, the hilltop pool is lovely and child free. Very relaxing. The only downside was that we stayed on a Sunday and Monday and the only restaurant open was boon fly cafe.

Our recent & first stay, was flawless! The architecture of the Inn is reminiscent of the south with a cool California vibe- gorgeous! Our room with several French doors leading to a private patio with outdoor heater, teak table, chairs, chaise lounges and a private outdoor shower- perfect!
The bathroom was immaculate, spacious and very well appointed. The slate floors were heated:)
The beds were soft, with very nice, high thread count sheets. The fireplace was lovely! It added a nice glow to our own bungalow further adding to our relaxation.
The dining at the Inn surpassed our expectations. It was better than our dining experience at Bouchon! Breakfast outside, near the pool was spot on. The French toast, house made donuts, omelette, potatoes- a 10. We also dined at the Boon Fly when all of Yountville lost power and every restaurant ceased service. Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheesr, heirloom tomatoe salad, peanut butter bar, and amazing mashed potatoes! Seriously satisfying!
This inn is striking, quiet and a very nice way to enjoy wine country. We will be going back!

We stayed at the Carneros Inn last week courtesy of my wife's Corporation rewarding her with record sales this year. Massages, meals and service were very good. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful. The little bungalows were okay with a patio in front and back. It is a resort that is very quiet and a place to unwind. Staying in S.F. afterwards was a welcome relief and exciting after chilling out.

Room Tip: All locations are good.

When it comes to service, this place has it perfected. Gorgeous rooms, amazing estate. I loved every minute staying there. The only downfall was when asking concierge for vineyard recommendations, they tended to direct us to Plumpjack vineyards (Carneros Inn is a Plumpjack resort). While I understand and support them touting their own, just be aware that there are TONS of amazing vineyards in Napa.

My wife and I just spent a long weekend in Napa and stayed at the Carneros Inn. This is one the best places we have stayed at in quite some time. Each "room" is actually a cottage with a private deck and often a private outdoor shower/tub. The heated bathroom floors are a nice touch!! The entrance to each cottage has a porch with a rocking chair, if you are into that; but I did see numerous people enjoying the cool, crisp morning air with coffee and their Ipads on the porch.

The grounds are amazing. They have orchards lined with apple trees, fig trees, pomegranates etc. Despite the number of people and all cottages appearing booked for a long weekend it still felt very private and secluded.

We have been to Napa many times as we lived in the Bay area but a stay in a place like this is a new and different feel for a Napa trip and weel worth the money, as you are removed from the hustle of the wineries and the always crowded roads.
