“beautiful honeymoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2012

Milliken Creek was our first stop on our honeymoon and was the best place to relax. The Inn is just beautiful and the bed is sooooo comfy! Our room was elegantly decorated and the turndown service was a lovely touch. the staff were equally as lovely and really helpful. I have to admit, our highlight was the breakfast! You can have breakfast anywhere you like and the waffles and coffee are to die for! Would love to return one day soon! x

We spent three nights in room #6 and were very happy with our stay. The room was comfortable, with a great view of the creek. The breakfasts were delicious and the main house was very inviting. The staff thought of everything. Jordan was an asset to the hotel and our visit. Go to relax and enjoy Napa.

We splashed out on the Milliken Creek Inn as a final 4 night treat to ourselves on our 12 day honeymoon from the UK.

Truly wonderful. We went for the 10th Anniversary package that included a few night time treats and a couples chocolate decadence massage and a wine seminar.

We were in room 12 - a luxury room (really more of a suite/small house!) with the most fabulous balcony overlooking the lawn and river. Very private and very high end in terms of quality and finish.

The complementary wine and cheese each night at 6pm was lovely - a chance to chat to other guests and compare restaurant bookings/day trips. Very well located for the wine tastings but especially so for restaurants - only a $7 taxi to Cole's Chop House and Morimoto. About a 3 minute drive to the start of the very scenic parts of the Silverardo Trail with associated vineyards of the famous Stag's Leap wine area.

We were blown away by the turndown service - very romantic and beautifully carried out, with care to check when we had booked for dinner so that we were never interrupted when in the room. It would be easier to describe the turndown as a romance service, such were the candles etc they put out.

The massage treatments at the Spa (my wife assures me that these ones were world class!) were excellent, expensive, but well worth it!

A personal treat was the complementory Port on offer that I could help myself to after dinner on returning to the hotel.

This Inn made our honeymoon experience truly wonderful - the very very helpful concierge booking service was superb and we have them to thank for arranging our booking at The French Laundry - much to the jealousy of other holiday makers in Napa. Thank you!

Room Tip: Room 12. Unbelievably comfy bed with amzing spacious layout of a suite and a lovely private balcony...

Great boutique hotel for adults! Beautifully appointed rooms, delicious breakfast choices delivered on time (anywhere on grounds), a true concierge service for all your needs, comfortable beds with turn down service unequalled by any hotel we have ever stayed. We did have an issue with the bathroom temperature (cold) which management was planning to address. Each evening we enjoyed meeting local vintners who educated us on their particular wines. A great way to start the evening. The day before we checked out my daughter and I each had a massage by excellent masseuses. Highly recommend as a small gem in Napa.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room. There are several rooms up a staircase, so if you require an elevator, a...

Upon reading some of the TA reviews we were a little concerned we might have "got it wrong" with Milliken Creek. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This is a charming Inn, well located for tours of the 500 wineries in the Napa Valley.

The little touches are what makes any vacation extra-special. The turn down service with tea-lights and chocolates is great. The local wineries showcasing every evening is a great opportunity for a pre-dinner drink.

The grounds are beautiful, rooms extremely comfortable (we had a fireplace, stand alone bath, no balcony but wonderful river views in room 2). Missy provided a wonderful service as concierge and their recommendations for trips/dining and travel durations were spot on. For what it's worth - there was no traffic noise from our room.

We would recommend this to anyone. No, it's not the cheapest you could find - but you will be hard put to beat the quality of service and you do get what you pay for!

Napa isn't about big chain hotels - its about small, personnel, boutique places like Milliken!

We were very lucky to win a trip to California in a competition and one of our hotels was Milliken Creek Inn. We usually stay in motels or cheap hotels so this was absolutely amazing. How anyone has given this even an average score I don't know.

The Inn is on the Silverado trail just outside Napa. Downtown is too far to walk, a good few miles and not even very interesting to walk. The road outside the Inn is busy but I can say the traffic never affected us once with noise. All the rooms have a view of the garden and the river and all have a private balcony or garden. The grounds are really nice with flowers and fountains. The room was unbelievable, like nothing we will ever stay in again. It was massive. Large tv with cable and dvd player, bose music system, dinning table inside and out in the private garden, shower that was as big as our bathroom at home, jacuzzi, mini bar with free water and soft drinks, they thought of everything even a rubber duck for in the bath.

Every evening your room gets turned down and some soft music put on, candles lit and some chocolates put on the bed.

Between 6 and 7 each night someone from one of the local vineyards comes to the Inn and you can sample some of there wines. Cheese and biscuits is also put on. We didn't feel that we had to buy any wine either or maybe they knew that at $130 a bottle that was more than what we normally pay for a night in a hotel.

Breakfast is brought to your room each morning and is really well presented in a basket and even comes with a news paper, you just hang your order on the door before bed.

The staff were amazing too. Every time you see them there are happy and smiling and always happy to give directions, help with places to eat and never let you leave without some bottles of water to take with you on a day out.

We didn't use the spa as it was way out of our price range and not the sort of thing we do on holiday so I can't comment on it.

I would love to think we would stay here again but unfortunately unless I win it again I don't think we will be.
