I stayed here with my husband and my daughter for one weekend. It was a complete disaster. The staff was very unfriendly. I think we ended up paying over $200 a night. I knew right away, that our stay wasn't going to be a pleasant one.

The room was small, dark and there was this tacky painting on the wall. The bathtub looked liked it hadn't been cleaned. That was pretty disgusting.

I would never stay at this hotel again.

One more thing, I complained when we arrived home to the "corporate offices." For weeks no one responded, then finally, after over one month, I received a generic e-mail from them. HORRIBLE!!!!

The Hilton Garden Inn in Napa is a nice affordable place to stay will visiting the Napa Valley. The hotel is the usual professional business hotel but leisure travelers will like it as well. The pool and spa were nice and the landscape around it is pleasant. Location wise, its on the highway and you have to drive to downtown but it allows easy access up th valley to the wineries - in 5 min north your in the vineyards.

The rooms had just gotten all new carpet and furniture when we stayed - some of it was still being delivered to other rooms while we were there but this did not disturb us as the crews came and went while we were out for the day. The new furniture was very nice in neutral colors and well above the old in appeal (the old furniture was piled up outside to be hauled off and had an ugly green fabric on it). The bathrooms also appear to have been redone recently. Ground floor rooms have very high ceilings, which is a little weird in feeling, but the rooms were comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Only two improvements I would make are more clothing storage and better pillows - they were a little soft for our liking. The ground floor rooms face a fence but the landscapeing covers it. We skipped the breakfast and went to the ABC cafe in town instead - great baked goods and coffee.

My boyfriend and I went to Napa for a 3 day trip and booked the Hilton Garden Inn. It's not like your regular Hilton hotels - as the name suggests it was more an Inn if anything.
We are both in our late 20s, but found the crowd to be older at this hotel - more older tour groups and families.
The room was very clean and a good size. We had the breakfast buffet downstairs and it was good and the price was OK.
The front desk staff were really helpful - they gave us a suggestion for an outdoor festival which was great. Also gave us a taxi cab number we could call since we didn't always want to drive every night.
The pool was really small - more for little kids to play in with their parents. But then again we weren't going for the sun/pool, so can't really complain too much about that.

I found the hilton to be very clean and new. It has every amenity a traveler could want and it is very conveniently located near the highway and a shopping plaza. I did not like the break fast fee ($10 per person for a box of cereal) I found the WholeFoods down the street to be cheaper and healthier for breakfast. The price was affordable and the staff was helpful and friendly.

My mother & I were visiting the Napa area from the east coast to celebrate her 90th birthday. Also meeting us at the HGI were relatives from other parts of the country. We made our reservation directly w/the hotel. They explained about the B&B option which provided a full breakfast for less than the cost if you purchased the breakfast at the hotel restaurant. If you do not use the B&B option I think the breakfast is overpriced, but it is convenient.
The service provided by ALL the staff was outstanding during our entire 4 night stay. When we arrived they asked if they could help with our luggage! And when they found out it was Mom's 90th birthday we were celebrating they brought complimentary wine to the room! Our room was the typical HGI room-2 queen beds, flat screen TV, microwave, refrig, coffee maker, hairdryer, etc. The room was very clean and looked brand new. Some of our group rented suites and these rooms provided a somewhat separate living area with a sleep sofa. Good choice for a family of 4 or more.
On most nights there were complimentary wine tastings w/cheeses in the lobby.
The HGI is located near the highway and is convenient for driving to Yountville for dinner or further for the Napa vineyard areas. I recommend a drive on the Silverado Trail and a meal at Auberge du Soile on the terrace. Auberge du Soile is pricey but the food is excellent and the view is fabulous.

Was at Sonoma Mission Inn (great experience) and went to the Silverado Resort (totally bad) and in desperation checked in here for the pool for the bored kids. It is really simple here but great value. There is a washing machine and dryer, free Internet, a tiny pool (practically in the parking lot, but for the price still ok) and hot tub, and fitness center. Not romantic but great for simple needs. Great service!
