What a lovely place. For the price we paid I was really blown away at the quality of the B$B. It's a very nice location in napa. The room is perfect. The bathroom is beautiful. The reception with the cheese and wine is a nice touch and the breakfast was delicious. We go to many bed and breakfasts and this one is a winner.

This is a wonderful B&B/Hotel (it really is something of a hybrid.) Our room was a deluxe queen (standard room, I believe). All of the basics were covered: clean accomodations, friendly and attentive service, good value.

Then, there were the extras. Breakfast was delivered to the room every morning. Turn down service with chocolates on the pillow. Wine and cheese and snacks in the lobby - perfect for that time when the wineries close and you need a snack before dinner. Getting dinner suggestions from the young lady at the front desk who also set up all the reservations for us.

In addition, I had ordered the birthday package for my boyfriend as a surprise. They decorated the room with balloons, streamers, and confetti. There was also cake and a bottle of sparkling wine. This cost $70 and there were other packages available on the web site.

Some constructive (I hope) criticism:
The web site shows beautiful images and views of Napa and grapes, etc. This is not what you will see. The building does not look "romantic" nor is it set in the middle of a blossoming field. The view from our room was some kind of auto-body shop or something like that.

I am a big fan of doing everything online. However, when I checked the site to make reservations, it was either down or said there were no rooms available. (They may be using a 3rd party for this feature, I didn't check.) I called, and I was told there was one room available after all.

Overall, I would definitely stay at the Bel Abri again. Large rooms and friendly, helpful staff make the price a great bargain.

After a lot of online research, we booked a one night stay at the Bel Abri. Upon entering we were welcomed by Mary Alice, the manager. The lobby was warm and friendly with guest chattering amongst themselves. This is not a traditional B and B, but it has a very homey, personalized feel to it with less than twenty guest rooms. The complimentary wine and snack bar were great and it was such a treat to have breakfast delivered to the room. Our room even had a fireplace. After careful planning, crossreferencing several travel websites and reviews, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This little property is only 15 rooms and very, very nice. Room we stayed in had a fireplace, beautiful french furniture, nice linens and cooked breakfast delivered to your door each morning. Every evening they did hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting in the lobby. Hotel staff were very helpful and had excellent recommendations and resources for wineries, restaurants, etc.
Each room has a small fridge and they do have some mini bar items - really appreciated the fact that these were reasonably priced and a nice added amenity.

Property is easy access to highway , not far from downtown and close to free Downtown trolley stop. Would highly recommend and will return.

I booked 2 rooms from December 27th until December 30, 2004 based on user reviews on Trip Advisor for my husband and I and our daughter and her husband. The Bel Abri was simply great!

The beautifully furnished rooms are large with a fireplace, a CD player at your bedside, and a nice size TV. The thick towels, soft sheets on a very comfortable bed, and down comforter do make you have a VERY "high end" hotel feel. The rooms are very romantic.

I agree with previous reviewers who have stated that the breakfast that is delivered to your room is much better than one would ordinarily expect. A menu is given to you the day before so you can make your choice for the next morning. A 4 cup coffee pot in each room allows you to make your coffee on your time schedule, and 2 packages of "regular" coffee were provided, along with the decaf, without my having to ask for extra. Someone is smart enough to know that 2 ordinary people need more than one of those small pots of coffee!! Wine and cheese served in the afternoon is a nice touch too.

This is essentially a Bed and Breakfast. The "French Country Inn" portion of their title does not include the exterior of the Bel Abri. It is a plain box of a building, but we do not spend much time gazing at the outside of a hotel when in a place like Napa. For the price, this was absolutely an excellent find and we all would go back and stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at the Bel Abri, room 31, Oct 14-17, 2004. The room was georgeous. French country decor. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with granite. The room had the look of a Four Seasons with out the high price tag.
One thing to keep in mind is that the BelAbri is not a full service hotel. Breakfast is served in your room because they do not have a restaurant. The lobby area is like a living room. They serve wine and cheese from 5-7 p.m. In many ways it is like a bed and breakfast.
Sierra , who works in the evening at the front desk was wonderful , she gave us great dining suggestions and any info on Napa we wanted.

The Bel Abri is great for those that want a bed and breakfast appeal but with a very nice looking hotel room. This is not for you if you are looking for nice grounds and a pool .

I would go back again.

This hotel is a find! Nicely decorated, well appointed rooms in a clean, comfortable hotel setting. Very nice attention to detail, like Ralph Lauren towels and soft, high-thread count sheets and comforters. Nice big TV, CD players in every room, very ‘high end’ feeling at an affordable price. The location of the hotel is near downtown Napa, conveniently located very close to highway 29 and Napa Outlet shopping. The Bel Abri is not a luxury resort with grounds, pools, etc., but the staff is very friendly, made some great winery suggestions, and made our stay very comfortable.

We ate at Brix for dinner, and would recommend this restaurant highly. Bouchard for lunch was underwhelming. At least we were not paying French Laundry prices to be under whelmed.

Had a very special private tasting at Crane family vineyards arranged by the hotel manager. This vineyard is way off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood, and we never would have found it otherwise. Purchased an amazing 2001 Hilltop Select Merlot, hand-picked and hand-made by the vintner in a batch of 96 cases. Wow. Can’t wait to drink this, and would never have found it if not for the manager of the hotel!
