With great anticipation of them getting back together, I took a friend to see The Mavericks July 20, 2012, at the Uptown Theater in Napa. Rather than pay the exorbitant fee to Ticketmaster, I drove up to Napa to buy the tickets at the box office. Though there is a $5 restoration fee for each ticket, it was a good deal. Though it was late in the game, I had to get seats that were close, but not together. The ticketseller brought me inside the theater to show me where the seats were. That is service! There is no seat more than 100 feet from the stage (excellent) and the lower level is gradient theater-style, staggered seating means you are not spending your entire night weaving and bobbing to see the players on stage--though for The Mavericks, everyone was weaving, bobbing, hopping and bopping in their dancing. Once we arrived at our seat location (the upper seats accessible by stairs), there was a problem (not worth explaining) and the box office rectified the situation immediately--and we ended up with better seats and together, to boot. It was a great show; when you are in a crowd that likes the same thing you do, it is a wonderful experience. The Uptown Theatre folks made it a great night. Thanks for everything! I would go for other shows, most definitely, but would like to see you bring The Mavericks back!
