We added this as our last stop one a wine tour after our friends recommended it. We made and appointment and accidentally went to the house first instead of the tasting room. This mishap made us a few minutes late for our appointment in the tasting room. When we arrived to the tasting room we were actually scolded for being late. Really? Who does that? You work in hospitality be hospitable. No one else was there so I am not sure what the problem was but I never think it's a good idea to scold potential customers.
When the lady poured our wines for us she said "this is a 2005 Vintage, that means that's when we made the wine..." Thanks for breaking it down for us lady. Most of us have worked in the restaurant business and had to be educated in wine so we could pair it with food and make recommendations for our customers. We know what Vintage means.
A guy jumped in because I am sure he could tell we were getting irritated with her and showed us the grounds and shared some wine knowledge with us. He was friendly and fun making up for our first impression with the crabby/rude lady. The grounds are nice and colorful with outdoor seating and an outdoor oversized Chess set. Old bikes, a 1959 corvette and other items on hand made for good conversation pieces. We liked their Malbec so we picked up a bottle but I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend with so many great wineries close by if the staff is going to have an attitude problem.
