Owner description: We are by appointment only. Please go to our website to inquire about our experiences. We do not take phone reservations. The cost is $55.00 per person. We regretfully are not permitted to have anyone under 21 years of age nor allow any pets on the premises. Our award winning wines come from our 40 acres in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. From grape growing to bottling, the entire winemaking process is managed at the estate. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Our wines are sought after by collectors and have received many awards, including a recent 98 point score for our 2013 Unrestrained Reserve Bordeaux Blend.

“A magical experience”

We visited many wineries on our trip to Napa but O'Brien Estate was by far the best . We were lucky enough to visit on a rainy day and had planned to have lunch in the vineyard but instead had a private lunch in the barrell room. It wasn't what we had hoped for but during our lunch we both agreed that this was the best part of our trip. Sometimes a change is for the better! The setting was so romantic and we loved the down home feel. The O'Brien family dog even joined us which we loved. We have recommended this Winery over and over to all our friends and family and can't wait to visit again.

“A hidden gem amongst the Napa wine giants. Great people, great wine!”
Reviewed March 12, 2010

A visit to O'Brien Estate that we thought was going to last a half hour turned into a nearly 2 and half hour stay. This was due to the hospitality of our tasting host Jill as well as the chance to meet and talk with both the wine maker and Barb O'Brien. Oh, yeah the wine was superb too!
When our travels bring us back to Napa we won't hesitate to visit our new friends at O'Brien Estate.

“A visit to O'Brien Estate Winery is an intimate experience”
Reviewed March 12, 2010

Upon arrival at O'Brien Estate Winery, we were greeted by the family dog, Sasha. This is a small family-run vineyard and the wines they produce are reflective of the owners' ideas about relationships. Our tour was conducted by Bart O'Brien himself. He has a warm and quiet but passionate personality and recited some of the poetry written by he and his wife, Barb for their wine labels. Amazing stuff! One of our favorite moments was sitting at a simple umbrella picnic table set among the vines sipping and discussing wine with Bart, and we felt like welcome old friends. The tour lasted about an hour. Definitely bring along a camera, your tastebuds, and maybe even a tissue to wipe away emotional tears after listening to some of Bart's poetry!

“Authentic Napa - Wine, Romance and Laughter”
Reviewed March 12, 2010

There are many wineries that will let you taste their wine. Here, they let you dance where its made, too! This boutique winery offers an insider's look at the the life and times of a real family owned winery. Often, you're toured through the vineyards by an owner and when they pour they're generous with not just the wine, but their stories, too. The place is beautiful, but no disneyland. It is very convenient to Napa, right off 29. You do need to contact them in advance, but it is so worth it. I feel that if I could just go tasting at one winery this year, I would go back to O'Brien Estate.

“Best Napa experience ever...the O'Brien Estate”
Reviewed March 12, 2010

I have been to Napa several times but was the first time for my wife. The O'Brien Estate was not only my best Napa experience, but was the perfect 'first winery' for my wife. If you are interested in a more intimate experience with people that truly have a passion for the art of wine making, then this is the place you should not miss. We toured the grounds a bit with the husband and wife owners. It was a cold, rainy December day but we never really noticed because they were so engaging. The wine tasting was relaxed and casual. Best of all, the wines were sublime. Our first order of business after returning home was to join their wine club. We will definitely spend time there again!
