“Stay here before the rates double.”
Reviewed March 28, 2010

My family had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the Avia hotel in Napa. Only 10 miles from Yontville and 1/3 the cost of hotels in the valley. I love what they have done to downtown Napa. This city is on the way back and a hotel like this one will certainly help. Excellent staff, service and overall quality. Be wise and book this hotel. Easy access to Hwy 29 and Napa Valley.

Good hotel at a good location. I would stay here again. It was relatively quiet for our stay.

When we were there the hotel had only been open for a couple months; so obviosly everything was new. It was very clean and quiet. Good location. There was a Restaruant in the hotel but we didn't try it.
One thing to note, the shower has no door. Worried about water on floor/slipping.

My husband and I stayed at the Avia for two nights for a little staycation. We were very pleased with the hotel. Although we paid a very low rate ($157 per night, I think-- California resident special on the hotel's web site), we had a suite with a separate sitting room. The room was very luxurious and had a safe, two flatscreen TV's, an excellent shower with a rain feature, and a very comfortable bed - not too firm and not too soft. We both slept very well there. Avia is very well located in downtown Napa and you can walk to several excellent restaurants (Norman Rose and Bounty Hunter are two that we tried and liked), tasting rooms and Silo's jazz club. The staff is very helpful with great recommendations on where to eat and what to do. We will definitely be back very soon.

My husband and I wanted a short get away after all the hustle and bustle of the Valentine and Chinese New Year weekend. We are not big on wine tasting, and just wanted a nice and quiet hotel with good restaurants within walkable distance. Avia was the ideal place. We had a tub and fireplace suite, and had a fantastic time. The hotel was very quiet and the deco was modern without being overly pretentious. The check-in was efficient and the receptionist gave us helpful dinning suggestions.

There are plenty of good eateries within a few block radius. We especially enjoyed the desserts at Sweetie Pie and the entrees at Celadon. The food at Celadon was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. We sat next to the fire place and had a casual but romantic dinner. Although we did not order any alcohol, the server gave us excellent service, and really deserved the generous tip.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very modern chic and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was a little small but still very nice and we weren't in there very much anyway. There was a wonderful breakfast spread in the bistro area each morning. The hotel had exactly the cozy wine country and spa feel that I expected from Napa valley.

The location wasn't as prime as I expected - but neither was the town of Napa. Most of the restaurants were in Yountville. Not much within walking distance of the hotel.

LOCATION:
Location was pretty much the only downside to this hotel. I wish it were closer to downtown Yountville instead of downtown Napa. It was a little far to drive back and forth to the wineries/dinner (about 25 minutes). There isn’t much to see in downtown Napa besides a handful of restaurants and the river.
HOTEL:
The hotel is small but very modern and nicely decorated. The outdoor patio has a large fire pit and is a great place to relax after a long day.
SERVICE:
Check in and out was a breeze (would have been nice to have had e-checkout though). Everyone was helpful and friendly! They even gave everyone Valentine ’s Day cookies on the 14th which was a very nice treat!
ROOM:
We stayed in a master suit with a tub and fireplace/sitting area. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with double sinks and a rain shower. The bathtub (as others have said) was luxurious and very relaxing. The king bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet.
INTERNET:
Free wifi throughout the hotel!
GYM:
The gym was small and had no windows to the outside but otherwise was nice and had brand new cardio machines and free weights. There was also a flat screen TV, water and towels. I would suggest to the management that they put a fan in the room as it can get rather hot and stuffy especially when there are a lot of people.
SECURITY:
I felt very safe in this hotel. There were large safes in the rooms big enough to hold my laptop which was great! Parking is okay, the self park (and valet park) is in a public parking structure behind the hotel. The top levels are reserved for guests only but the structure is otherwise open to the public.
OVERALL:
Overall I truly enjoyed my stay at Avia. The room was exactly as we expected and we had a relaxing vacation. The only drawback for us was the location as we would have preferred to stay somewhere a little closer to wine country activities.

Dear Valued Guest,
I'm delighted you enjoyed AVIA and had a relaxing vacation in Napa. Thank you for the nice comments regarding the hotel amenities and staff. They work very hard to make every guest feel special and make sure you have a wonderful visit. Napa is revitalizing their downtown area and will have more restaurants and tasting rooms for visitors to the area. Although you mentioned you would like to be closer to Yountville, I hope you will give downtown Napa and AVIA another try in the future.
