The Silverado as a property and resort is wonderful. I have stayed here twice. This year, I was in a room; two years ago, I had a one-bedroom suite. Both times, the rooms were dated and needed a sprucing. Note that both rooms were clean and nicely-appointed, just older-looking than the rooms pictured on the website. My bed linens were not of poor quality or uncomfortable, but they certainly were older -- the comforters were floral patterned. The additional bed quilts were pilled and aged. The carpets were a bit worn as well. The bathrooms have a heater/fan option, but both seemed to pump out the same hot air and had a loud, humming sound.
With the slight drawbacks of the rooms noted, I can say that the resort, the grounds and the staff are all lovely. It is a bit back from town, but just off the main winery roads. I have not played golf there, but companions who have raved about the course. The workout facility is bright, clean and full of machines. Still, my favorite exercise was walking around the grounds and the roads in and around the propery (be mindful of cars on the narrow and winding roads).
Overall, I would like a bit nicer rooms for the price, but it is a high quality resort.More
